    Jeanskynebu the audience applauded
Ketrivie It isn't all that great, actually. Really cheesy and very predicable of how certain scenes are gonna turn play out. However, I guess that's the charm of it all, because I would consider this one of my guilty pleasures.
FirstWitch A movie that not only functions as a solid scarefest but a razor-sharp satire.
Dana An old-fashioned movie made with new-fashioned finesse.
natygance I'll have to admit..I wasn't expecting much out of FB, but when I watched it..I just couldn't stop!! 2 recommendations: first AND MOST IMPORTANT...READ THE MANGA!!!, it's so so much better and the story continues a lot more and it's even more awesome...I was so glad with the anime that started the manga (I only did that for NANA and now FB) and I was so happy..the story is much more complete (about the characters feelings, about the 12th juunishi, they also tell the story of how Toru's mom met his dad,and a lot of other things, characters that are missing in the anime, and connections between each other that are also lacking), with a lot more character development and you end up 5 times happier than with the anime, easily. Second of all, please watch the anime subbed, not dubbed, because the English voice SUCK, there, I said it, they suck. Now...about the story, it's great, if you like bittersweet, slice of life anime/mangas, you will definitely love this, it makes you cry and laugh a bunch of times..and although the story is fictional, you can relate with the emotions of the characters really well. They story is about a girl who's parents are dead and she ends up living with two guys that are cursed by the spirits of the animal zodiacs, but I guess you all know that already :) believe me, there much, much much to Fruits Basket than what you think there is.
emasterslake I didn't know much about this series till 2006. And I recently finished seeing all 26 episodes that were made.Fruits Basket revolves on a high school girl name Tohru Honda, a sweet kind orphan who lost her own mother in a car accident. After loosing her, she managed to live through it and remained cheerful and optimistic like she normally is. Tohru was offered to stay with her grandfather, but didn't wanted to be a burden for him while his place was being remodeled. So Tohru lives in a tent with her clothes, belongings, and a photo of her mom. The photo makes her feel less lonely as if she was still with her mother. So despite the hardships she's going through, Tohru continues to go to high school, like her mother wanted her to, and support herself at a maid's job at an office building. One day she comes across a house which is the home of Yuki Sohma, who is the most popular guy at Tohru's school. She finds him to be very handsome, yet very mysterious. Yuki lives with his cousin Shigure Sohma(a novelist who likes women) and after earning that Tohru lives by herself in a tent they decide to offer her to live in their home, as their maid for cooking and cleaning(which neither of them are good at). Tohru is overwhelm to be living in a place to call home, but pretty soon she finds out that the Sohma family has a Zodiac curse that's been a secret not to tell to the public.I really enjoy this Anime title, it was funny, well animated, and dramatic in some episodes(especially the final 2 episodes). Throughout the series, you'll learn a little more about the Sohma family's curse of the Zodiac. As well as Tohru who witnesses the sad tales of Yuki, Kyo, and their other relatives and friends. A lot of it is basically every day problems and things we face every day of our lives. Even though the story is fictional, with some Japanese slapstick mix to it. The characters and environments are believable and full of life.I kept hoping the ending wouldn't end tragically. And without any spoilers, it does have a satisfying end to it. I haven't read the Manga it's based off of yet. Which is spin off of the first 8 volumes. But I'm hoping to pretty soon, because the original Manga, from what I've heard is longer and more back stories that were left out in the anime, including more about the mysterious head of the Sohma family Akito. It may of lasted for only 26 episodes. But I guarantee that it's an Anime to cherish for generations. Highly recommended to those who like "slice of life"/"high school" related Animes. And a perfect choice to show to someone's girlfriend.
Rena Dyne this movie was absolutely amazing. not only were the graphics beautiful and the plot full but the characters were each diverse every single person had there own personality. I couldn't help but fall in love with kyo-grins- the movies are absolutely amazing sound's as well though i don't care too much for the end song.-blushes-well its always amazing i guess i cant stop watching the discs hehe... but what was really amazing was how the story ended what a thrill ride the whole ending is just not what i had expected to see though since it would be a spoiler i cant say it here so just watch the movie trust me if you like anime you'll love this! but i do have to add something the Begin title was rather interesting to see and if you use your DVD remote you can switch the credits and the title of the movie from English to Japanese. Its OK if you haven't read the manga I haven't but I instantly fell in love with the series the special features on the DVD were rather interesting though you'll have to figure those out for yourself
sweetgurl8915 I am a die hard Fruits Basket fan. So when I decided to watch to movie interested to see how it turned out. I have to say that I was overall happy with what it had to deliver. For those who have read the manga, it follows the books pretty well. There are some differences and added scenes, but that is to be expected. I found myself laughing at some of the things that went on in those added scenes, or feeling that these extras scenes really fit in well with the story. For people who haven't read the manga, they should find it entertaining, a little silly but entertaining. But I would suggest that they read the manga, which even though they show is good, because its better than the book.
