brilliant actors, brilliant editing

At first rather annoying in its heavy emphasis on reenactments, this movie ultimately proves fascinating, simply because the complicated, highly dramatic tale it tells still almost defies belief.

While it is a pity that the story wasn't told with more visual finesse, this is trivial compared to our real-world problems. It takes a good movie to put that into perspective.

Through painfully honest and emotional moments, the movie becomes irresistibly relatable

Brilliant show with fascinating characters. So important, honest and revolutionary in the way it deals with mental illness. Definitely a breath of fresh air on ABC. Always on the edge of my seat with every episode. Great cases and personal stories. It is a very real show and very different from everything I've seen before. The acting is superb and the writing is incredible. Black Box is definitely the best medical drama since House. It portrays the real, uncomfortable, and painful parts of mental illness that TV often refuses to confront. This show is important for those who suffer with mental illness, those who are family members or friends of those with mental illness, and those who just don't understand the severity of certain conditions. If we grow to love ad sympathize with Catherine Black and understand her illness, maybe we will be more understanding in our real lives when confronted with these issues. Not to mention, the details of this show are incredible. The directing, cinematography, and especially music!! Love everything about it and would recommend it to everyone.

I loved this series and the characters. I have no idea whether any of the diagnoses that the patients presented with or solutions for treatment were accurate but I guarantee that it was interesting and entertaining. I even thought some of the villainous characters were great and justified in doing the back stabbing things they did. Dr. Black was wonderful although I think a lot was probably left out about bipolar disorder and how disruptive it can be to a persons life and the lives of those closest to them. For me this show was pure entertainment. This was a dramatic series that takes you on a roller-coaster ride where you are never quite sure where you are going or if you will even get there. It ran the gamut of emotions. I usually enjoy sci-fi fantasy and mysteries but I definitely got hooked on this . I hope there will be a second season of this program perhaps at a later time.

I so love the concept of the new series but I just cant seem to grow into the leading lady's acting skills. Her acting just doesn't seem to fit the role and is very dry and choppy. The rest of the cast seems really good but. I think shes is just not a very good actress sorry. I almost quit watching it after the 1st episode because it her acting skills or lack there of because shes just not believable in this particular role. But I've hung in there because the ideals and concept of the show which is great. I have 3 friends that quit watching the show completely because of her a well. Can you keep the show and drop her?

I have become addicted to this TV show, it is a great connector for me. I have Bipolar Disorder and so many things in this show are how I lived off medication, on medication or screwing around with medication (because reality is medication is very hard core and not nice to take) The world on Mania IS exactly how it is perceived in this show, you want to literally fXck anything that moves, hallucinate and go a bit "crazy". And you're reckless (hence where she was dancing on the balcony) We tend to screw up relationships because sometimes we just become "numb" and loose all emotions of actual care to make it work because we get to a thought process of "why should I, I'm just insane and they wont love me"Really enjoy this show, it's a very deep reality into mental illness and that might not be everyone's cup of tea but it's a living reality for many of us...and yes a lot of mentally ill people watch TV (referring to a comment made by another use that we apparently don't watch TV)
