This work is framed by a prologue and an epilogue ,both taking place in present time, which tends to show that if the Young educated man has embraced a scientific attitude ,his old man still thinks that it's the Gods who rule the world. As the ending of the legend tells us:" he tried to kill the soothsayer;but he did not kill the traditions".It's a period of drought ,the wells are empty ;the king of the tribe summons the soothsayer who declares that he has visions of a return to years of plenty .But he also sees blood and the Gods demand the sacrifice of a Young woman,Toula.A Young man in love with her goes in search of water to save his love.A race against time begins.Far from all Hollywood conventions, this is a worthwhile work,if only for its authenticity:it was made with the collaboration of non-Professional people from tribes ,with a great economy of means (it may seem amateurish to some, but it reinforces the credibility). In the legend ,the Young man leaves his tribe to their superstitions ;in real life, the Young scientist insists that meteorology exists, but his forefather has the last word.
