FuzzyTagz If the ambition is to provide two hours of instantly forgettable, popcorn-munching escapism, it succeeds.
Aneesa Wardle The story, direction, characters, and writing/dialogue is akin to taking a tranquilizer shot to the neck, but everything else was so well done.
Alex Barker There have been few other documentaries that better peel back the layers of the complexities and processes of how collaborative music works. Josh Garrels is a poet of the highest caliber, but he is also a man of deep understanding of the human condition. Whether it's through the performances on the island, his intimate interviews with his wife about their family, or his soul-searching thoughts on God and the significance of Christ in his art, The Sea In Between reminds us the importance of integrity of one's work, and how music is indeed one of the greatest gifts given to mankind. It's inspiring to know Garrels strives to use that gift well, with joy bursting through every note plucked, sung, or strummed.
