I was totally surprised at how great this film. You could feel your paranoia rise as the film went on and as you gradually learned the details of the real situation.

I wanted to like it more than I actually did... But much of the humor totally escaped me and I walked out only mildly impressed.

Actress is magnificent and exudes a hypnotic screen presence in this affecting drama.

"The Little Death" is probably the most forgettable film of all time, but in Belgium the title occasionally rings a bell because the movie was directed by Jan Verheyen. Verheyen is a commercial journeyman that basically does about anything for a quick buck, but he does so in such an honest, almost shameless way that you have to respect his perseverance. As a business man he's a genius, but as a filmmaker he completely lacks the skill to pull of this Hollywood project he somehow talked himself into. "The Little Death" is written, directed and photographed like a made for TV-movie, it's a curious collage of weird scene transitions, unerotic sex scenes, predictable twists and nonsensical dialogues topped off with a real "huh?" of an ending. It's tough to find things in "The Little Death" that you can enjoy non-ironically, but I guess it can be appreciated if you think of those trashy novels you can buy at supermarkets. There's no merit to them, they were probably slapped together in a weekend, but they still have a certain appeal you can't put your finger on. It's the sleaze of it all I guess, throughout this movie you constantly have the sound of a wah-wah pedal in your head. The appeal doesn't make the movie any good, but I can't hate a movie that I sat through so easily.

I'm not sure if this comment would be considered to contain SPOILERS or not so I might as well put it. Set up of movie is decent. Plot is good(but not too original), camera shots are good, but in my opinion I think this movie focuses a little too much on (this would be the spoiler) sex. I realized that some would be involved (the cover is a dead give away) however, it sickens me because of the relation of the characters. Other than that, some standard things that you see in a serial killer/stalker are engraved here. Nothing really new or different is introduced. Acting isn't all that great either. So unless you really have nothing better to watch please avoid this movie.

I saw this movie on TV with the lowest of expectations, well knowing that I was not exactly about to see a blockbuster... What first struck me and confirmed me in my worst prejudices was the apalling acting by most of the characters and the highly predictable script.Well, one might ask, why keep watching? Because this film actually entertains, it does have its twists and turns, and it do surprise the audience now and then. Sure, the scripting, the set pieces, the actors' clothes, the camera shooting and the artistic effects are evidently copied from movies far greater than this. And sure, the subtleness of the characters and the environment is - to say the least - fairly limited. But it works - it serves its purpose - it entertains us.The screen writer leaves little to our imagination at times (you know what I mean - pityful for such a bad movie). The movie doesn't exactly challenge its viewers. And it contains almost any kliché movie scene you can ever think of (including the courtroom-verdict scene, the classical scary movie scenes, and, in particular, the scene with the man, insaneously obsessed with the female main character, developing pictures of her in his darkroom). But in the end, it still goes quite well for 90 minutes of brainless entertainment on a sunday night. As a matter of fact, I've seen lot worse movies... 5/10... see it if its on TV, but don't spend money on it, please...
