A 707 aircraft jetliner, en route from Athens to Rome and then to New York City, is hijacked by Lebanese terrorists, who demand that the pilot take them to Beirut. What the terrorists don't realize is that an elite team of commandos have been called in to eliminate all terrorists on the jetliner.

Reviews
Buffronioc One of the wrost movies I have ever seen
SunnyHello Nice effects though.
GazerRise Fantastic!
SanEat A film with more than the usual spoiler issues. Talking about it in any detail feels akin to handing you a gift-wrapped present and saying, "I hope you like it -- It's a thriller about a diabolical secret experiment."
buiger I watched this movie for the first time over 30 years after it was produced. Considering its age, the fact that it is essentially a Chuck Norris film (whom I really never liked), and the numerous clichées in the premise and story-line, this motion picture was a rather pleasant surprise. It was decently scripted, decently acted (except for Mr. Norris, of course) and well filmed. Even the cheesy special effects don't take away too much from the overall viewing experience.Do not misunderstand me, this is no masterpiece by a long shot, but it definitely makes for some decent escapist entertainment on an evening with nothing much better to do. Definitely above average.
adonis98-743-186503 A 707 aircraft jetliner on its way from Athens to Rome and then to New York City is hijacked by Lebanese terrorists. The terrorists demand that the pilot take them to Beirut. What the terrorists don't realize is that an elite team of commandoes led by Major McCoy (Norris) and by Colonel Alexander (Marvin) as been called into service to eliminate all terrorists on the jetliner and who's involved in the hijacking and try to retake the plane before the terrorists kill all the hostages. The Delta Force is a film that 80's Action Fans will definitely enjoy and although it starts pretty slow and full with tension inside an aircraft and don't get me wrong both the 2nd and 3rd act were pretty great but i think the 1st act built a lot of tension and had some pretty good moments but overall this is a great film with nice performances by Chuck Norris, Lee Marvin, Robert Forster and George Kennedy, the soundtrack by Alan Silvestri is terrific and something that i can listen all day and the action itself was pretty excellent especially the sequences with Chuck Norris riding the motorcycle and in my opinion it was a pretty great film and i'm going to give it an A
Python Hyena The Delta Force (1986): Dir: Menahem Golan / Cast: Chuck Norris, Lee Marvin, Robert Forster, Martin Balsam, Robert Vaughn: Resembles every other Chuck Norris movie except that this one is apparently based on fact. It regards the hijacking of a T.W.A. airplane in 1985. The Delta Force is a U.S. commando unit, which specializes in terrorist attacks. Lee Marvin heads the operation with Norris as the plot solver. It loses its luster when it becomes obvious that Norris is going to kick the crap out of dozens of terrorists. In fact the rest of the force might as well order out for pizza or get involved in a really good game of Twister because Norris can handle everything on his own just as long as he can take total credit. That means presenting his name in big bold letters above the title on the advertizing poster. Perhaps write, "I'm the man" underneath. Director Menahem Golan does his best and the action is fast but the screenplay isn't fast in terms of intelligence. Robert Forster plays the menacing terrorist leader who scares the crap out of everyone on that flight. Martin Balsam and George Kennedy also star as passengers wondering why they were filming a shitty movie before they had the opportunity to get off the plane. Robert Vaughn also shames himself as part of the idiot force. It could have been about combat operations but instead it settles for dreary revenge fantasy clichés. Score: 2 / 10
dangkoen This film... It is difficult to describe it. It starts out fairly well, despite some hokey acting (which continues throughout the movie). Based on a true story, a Boeing 707 is hijacked by Lebanese terrorists. The first act features interactions between the terrorists & their hostages. It is actually quite tense, and some of the uneven acting already mentioned earlier wasn't really distracting. In the second half however, the film falls apart. After the terrorists take the hostages away from the plane to a secure location, the Delta Force tracks the terrorists down. At this point the film turns into an overly patriotic fantasy, which bares no resemblance to the actual outcome of the events the film is loosely based on. I personally really cringed when members of the Delta Force put the US logos on their uniforms & the filmmakers made sure we saw a nice close-up of the emblems. No real surprise a lot of people are very offended how this movie twisted a lot of the events just for the sake of entertainment and to make some bucks. Some movies can be forgiven for taking liberties with historical context, but in this case it's just not excusable."Delta Force" is a film that shouldn't have been made & is not recommendable. Avoid at all costs.
