This film is so real. It treats its characters with so much care and sensitivity.

The tone of this movie is interesting -- the stakes are both dramatic and high, but it's balanced with a lot of fun, tongue and cheek dialogue.

This is one great romantic movie. As a western movie lover, and one who sits well in a saddle, oh,and one who buys flowers for his wife, well at least twice a year, I think I qualify as a romantic. This movie gives me all of this and more.Terry Polo, who is in my top five female actresses hits this one out out of the park big time. She plays her role so well, you empathize with her every step of the way throughout the whole movie.McCarthy does a great job as a regular guy who has lost everything he has ever cared about in his life, and has a real hard time getting past it.What can I say about J. Kenneth Campbell in the scene at the grave site, when he puts Tyler's flowers in his vase and then breaks down.Yes and we even have B.J. and the Bear Greg Evigan one of my favorites,Patricia Kalember as Tyler's sister great job and David Jean Thomas loved him in this movie.I could go on,but I won't except to say that Polo does hit it out of the park twice as an actress and in the softball scene and the ending is great, it involves New York city a small colt and an offer.I own this movie and never tire watching it, I think you'll love it to.

I absolutely love this movie. It is the perfect film for anyone who loves uplifting, heart tugging, romance. I have to say I have rediscovered Andrew McCarthy after many years and am enjoying many of his movies that I wasn't aware of before. If you enjoy the chemistry between him and Teri Polo, you have to see A Change of Heart (aka A Father for Brittany). I have watched both of these repeatedly, and don't seem to be tiring of them. I love romantic movies, and the fact that Andrew has gone from being one of the most adorable heartthrobs of the 80's (St. Elmo's Fire) to a gorgeous 40 something who can actually act, and very well, I might add, makes him one of my favorite actors and watching his movies one of my favorite pass times.

This is a wonderfully realized television movie starring Teri Polo and Andrew McCarthy.McCarthy, as the embittered widower, sullen and angry with life, shows that he has become a masterful matured actor. He has really graduated from the days of the college or high school teen movies that he starred in years back. What makes this film so good is the way that the McCarthy character and Teri Polo gradually fall in love. How they get together is interesting enough. His sister writes an ad for her brother to meet someone, Polo's friend is upset that her friend's 5 year romance seems to be going nowhere and answers the ad for her friend. This brings about the Polo trip to the west where she immediately shows McCarthy that she can handle a rural life as well as his apparent insults. This is a heartwarming tale featuring the animals on the farm and an embittered father-in-law who blames McCarthy for his daughter's death after she gives birth to a baby girl who also dies.

It has been awhile since I have seen Andrew McCarthy in a movie, I saw this film on the Hallmark Channel a few weeks ago and fell in love with him, the chemistry between he and Teri Polo, or their characters, is so thrilling. I am a horse trainer, and rider, so it was just a wonderful movie for me, I loved the short, but sweet romance between them Andrew McCarthy is so mysterious, the way he walks, how he moves, just is so amazing to me. Iwish with all my heart I could one day meet him he will never know how this film effected me. Thank you all, the producers, the director, and casting director for choosing him, and for choosing Teri Polo, I taped it and now can watch it in my spare time. Thanks
