Reviews
Colibel Terrible acting, screenplay and direction.
Sabah Hensley This is a dark and sometimes deeply uncomfortable drama
Kamila Bell This is a coming of age storyline that you've seen in one form or another for decades. It takes a truly unique voice to make yet another one worth watching.
Scarlet The film never slows down or bores, plunging from one harrowing sequence to the next.

Python Hyena Star Wars: The Clone Wars (2008): Dir: Dave Filoni / Voices: Matt Lanter, Christopher Lee, Ashley Eckstein, James Arnold Taylor, Tom Kane: I certainly hope they don't clone this uninspired piece of crap. They should have called it The Clown Wars considering what the franchise has become. A plot regarding the rescue of Jabba the Hutt's son is not the stuff hardcore fans rush to theatres to see. In Return of the Jedi Jabba the Hutt was this oversized hulking creature gangster so seeing him going giddy goo at the sight of his young son is downright embarrassing. It is enough to have loyal franchise fans leaving the theatre with their jackets pulled over their heads. Instead the film is jam packed with as much action as possible between saber fights and spaceship shootouts. Director Dave Filoni handles the action well but the animation is laughable. The characters are too shapely to the point where anyone who had a beard appears to have blocks hanging from his face. It is on par with any colouring book that has been scribbled upon by a toddler. Matt Lanter voices the lifeless Annakin Skywalker and Christopher Lee voices the evil Count Dooku. James Arnold Taylor voices Obi wan Kenobi, and Ashley Eckstein voices Skywalker's companion. It all amounts to perhaps the worst thing to happen to the franchise. Pointless spectacle that looks as good as the last sh*t I took. Score: 1 / 10
joshuadrake-39480 Now, that I have reviewed the entire STAR WARS franchise, I thought it would be really nice to review the stand-alone animated film, STAR WARS: THE CLONE WARS.Instead of 20th Century Fox releasing it, the film was distributed by Warner Bros. Pictures and the film would surprise people with it's release date being released in August of 2008, with this being the first STAR WARS movie, being released in a different month, other than May, with the second film being STAR WARS: THE FORCE AWAKENS, being released in December of this year. The story is set during the three-year time period between STAR WARS EPISODE II: ATTACK OF THE CLONES and STAR WARS EPISODE III: REVENGE OF THE SITH and man, is this a wonderful story. A lot of critics put this movie down because of everything it does wrong and also, it is been called the worst of the STAR WARS movie franchise and I can't stand when I read negative reviews, but it does not keep me from watching this film. After watching this movie, I would then get excited to see R2-D2 and C3PO, as well as Yoda and Chewbacca again in REVENGE OF THE SITH, which I did not see until 2013 in my freshman year of high school in Madison, Tenessee, at Hunters Lane High School. The plot of this movie is just fantastic and I could have not been happier, but I thought there were some things that could have been done better. Some of the lightsaber sequences could have been done more better by adding a lot more action and intensity into it, especially with the fight between Anakin and Asajj Ventress, if they would have made this film longer, I would have enjoyed as much more as I did, but they could not do that, considering the budget that they had.I watched this film with an audio commentary and the commentary was amazing in the way the writers, editor and director explained all of the challenges that they had to go through to make this movie. The other thing that should have been improved on was the music by Kevin Kiner, I would have loved his musical score if only there were a lot more of John Williams' musical score put into the feature film. The acting is okay. Matt Lanter is good as Anakin Skywalker. James Arnold Taylor plays Obi- Wan Kenobi and he is good, too. Ashley Eckstein as Ashoka Tano is really good and she plays the part wonderfully. Ian Abercrombie plays Palpatine / Darth Sidious and he might not be as good as Ian McDiarmid, but he could have been a hell of a lot worse.Tom Kane as Yoda and Narrator is really amazing. A few of the original cast members does their voices of their respective characters in this film and he does an amazing job. Overall, while some people hate the STAR WARS: THE CLONE WARS movie, a lot of people liked the show. But I only seen the movie version, I have not seen the TV show based on this film and I think it was one movie that I think critics tooked this movie way too seriously. 7.5 / 10.
chadgeri-1 The main problem with this movie was that it was released in theaters, giving fans the impression that it was the next Star Wars movie. However, it's really just the pilot episode of the Clone Wars TV series, and as the pilot episode of a TV series it's solid. Go into it expecting this and I think you'll enjoy it. But if you're expecting the next Star Wars movie you'll most certainly be disappointed. The episode itself is fairly middle-of-the-road, as far as the series goes. The plot is pretty straight-forward and not particularly exciting, involving Jabba the Hutt's child being abducted and needing rescue by the Jedi to establish a strategic advantage in the war against the Separatists. The stakes just never seem particularly high, and the main goal seems to be just to introduce the characters and the basic premise of the show. There are much better episodes of the TV series, but we don't normally judge an entire series by a single episode, and although this episode isn't particularly great, the series itself is quite impressive, only getting better as the series progresses. So I do recommend watching this as the beginning of a very enjoyable TV series!
