George Taylor I first discovered the original Yamato series as Starblazers in 1979 and I've been a fan since. The recent remake of the original series was spectacular so when I got this from Amazon - I was thrilled. Until I watched it. Only the horrible live action movie is worse than this. A horrible mish mosh of unrelated ideas, it's an attempt to force a story out of the Yamato's journey home after the defeat of Dessler. Unfortunately the story they went with - no spoilers - is dull and partially a repeat of better ideas from the original series. In the end this is quite dull and really just a badly done movie. Watch the originals and save yourself a headache.
