Sevenes Trailers

The film is about seven young men, passionate about football – sevens football to be precise – and how they inadvertently get involved in a crime. Sevens is a kind of football played in North malabar, especially in Kozhikode, Malappuram and Kannur. It is played by seven players on each side, instead of the traditional 11. The name Sevenes ascribed to the movie refers to the gang of seven friends and not as such to sevens football.

Reviews
SteinMo What a freaking movie. So many twists and turns. Absolutely intense from start to finish.
Neive Bellamy Excellent and certainly provocative... If nothing else, the film is a real conversation starter.
Married Baby Just intense enough to provide a much-needed diversion, just lightweight enough to make you forget about it soon after it’s over. It’s not exactly “good,” per se, but it does what it sets out to do in terms of putting us on edge, which makes it … successful?
Francene Odetta It's simply great fun, a winsome film and an occasionally over-the-top luxury fantasy that never flags.
TheDennisBergkampFan So last weekend I was flipping through channels on a Sunday afternoon when I noticed that Sevenes was about to start on some channel. I remember hearing that it had something to do with football and since it also had Nivin Pauly I thought I would give it a try. What is worse than the movie itself is watching the movie on a Malayalam channel where 5 minutes of movie is usually followed by 10 minutes of mind numbing advertisements.First things first, the movie has very little if anything to do with football. The depiction of the couple of scenes of football matches is so amateurish that you wonder if the director can spell Football. There is this one scene in which a player is shown being kicked in the head while standing with a scissor kick. I don't think in the entire century old history of football anyone anywhere could have managed to do that. And for all his troubles the perpetrator gets a yellow card. We are all lucky that the director did just enough research on the colour of the cards. Imagine him being shown a pink card . With this level of movie making anything is possible. The only good thing about the movie is the police commissioner. She is incredibly beautiful. I had to google to find out who she was. I was honestly surprised that Nadiya Moidu is actually 48 years old. She is 48 and looks 35.The rest of the actors are nothing to write home about. Nivin has as many dialogues as a husband after 10 years of marriage. I think I will have to watch 1983 again to get this abomination out of my head.
