Reviews
2hotFeature one of my absolute favorites!
Curapedi I cannot think of one single thing that I would change about this film. The acting is incomparable, the directing deft, and the writing poignantly brilliant.
Asad Almond A clunky actioner with a handful of cool moments.
Stephanie There is, somehow, an interesting story here, as well as some good acting. There are also some good scenes
csbuffs I love spoofs and I've seen just about everyone out there. Even generously rating them anywhere between a 5-8. This was just plain awful. It wasn't funny at all. I don't even think if someone were to get high and watch it would it be worth there time. I would feel cheap asking for the $1.09 back I was charged to rent it for 24 hours, so I'll suck it up and just advise anyone else to not waste their time even if you like spoofs. I cannot imagine actually finishing this movie and liking it more. Aside from some of the obvious guidelines of the movie trying to following Paranormal Activity, there seems to be nothing else to follow along in this movie. It's like everyone is winging it or the scrip was well thought out over night. There was much more potential with this but seems like that would have required more work.
kosmasp I know this is wrong, but I kinda liked a few things in this movie. It might have to with the fact, that you sort of expect it to be completely bad and when it isn't you are positively surprised. As was the case here. Just the fact that you have a lot of cameos is sort of fun, if you play the name game (and also wonder why and how they ended up in this! I'm guessing Mr. Farley had something to do with that). If you don't know who's in it (haven't read the cast list like me), it might be fun for you too. I'll only name Tom Sizemore (Heat, Relict) who has one of the weirdest roles in this one. I don't think every joke worked (I don't get the fascination with 10 fart jokes in a movie for example), but overall breaking the fourth wall (having crew members entering the shots) and going completely crazy on almost everything was the best way the movie could go ... so if you like crazy stretched to its limits, you might find some bright spots yourself
bjjnedan This is a spoof of all the different kind of ghost and scary sh*t we are all forced to endure now days. For what it was, Paranormal Movie wasn't horrible. Granted, I didn't expect much from this, never do from any spoof movie, but I don't know. This spoof had everything that is required to be a good spoof. Well..., almost everything. For a spoof, this wasn't all that funny. It had several parts that were suppose to be shockingly funny, but I don't know..., it just tried to hard. For almost every "funny," scene in this movie, I just found myself asking, "Why is this happening?" There was only 1 scene that got a genuine laugh outta me. Overall, this movie is a waste of time. Not a good waste of time but not really a bad waste of time either. Lemme put it this way, it's probably better than getting waterboarded, that's something.
Colin Issa I mean it's illegal to design & construct a building without handicap access. This film has the common issue of frequent fluctuations in sound FROM EXTREMELY QUIET DIALOGUE (which expedites with humorous adult oriented one liners to keep the audience entertained) TO LOUD MOANING & MARIACHI MUSIC. I wouldn't mind the broad fluctuations in audio if i could follow along reading subtitles while keeping the sound at a constant level. Obviously my real problem is that i don't have a remote control for my surround system because I'm a BUM, but that's a different issue I believe. The 2nd half of the film has a fairly constant level to be fair. Subtitles Please. The Movie itself. Seems pretty funny with surprising celebrity cameos from the likes of Jake Busey & Kevin Sorbo, etc. Kevin Farley is not his brother Chris and it's not fair to try and compare this film to what the project could've been had it been helmed by Chris Farley (though honestly i have imagined). I LOVE SPOOF films so I plan on purchasing this film but not at the current $20 equilibrium price. I rented it from the local video store for a few dollars ready for a comedy Thankfully not as serious as "A HAUNTED HOUSE" but certainly better than the obscure and mediocre "SUPERNATURAL ACTIVITY"(I was impressed by the well scripted writing of the relatively unknown Lisa Baget). I've been a fan of the Farley Brothers (of course other than Chris) since I saw them in "THE BREAKS" well over a decade ago. I'm glad to see KEVIN FARLEY IS WORKING and DOING WELL! This picture is a worthy entry into the COVETED "... MOVIE" parody franchise haha, which is probably an insult to most claimed self respecting directors. I was surprised not to see this DVD available at my local Walmart. Hopefully this Film receives a broad distribution! 4 stars cause of William Katt's crazyness nostalgiac of that uncle most know whether through blood or marriage. TOM SIZEMORE... words can't describe.
