TeenzTen An action-packed slog
Beystiman It's fun, it's light, [but] it has a hard time when its tries to get heavy.
Peereddi I was totally surprised at how great this film. You could feel your paranoia rise as the film went on and as you gradually learned the details of the real situation.
Jenna Walter The film may be flawed, but its message is not.
meegaan1 I was super excited to see this film. I'm a fan of Luke Goss and really looked forward to seeing him in this Biblical setting. I also have always had a soft spot for the tale of Queen Esther.Overall, I found that two hours for this film was far too long. The story could have been effectively and efficiently told in ninety minutes. I was not disappointed in the acting. Though at first I thought that Tiffany Dupont's portrayal of the renowned Biblical queen was shaky, she surprised me when her character matured with the storyline. I found that the film relied heavily on theatricality and booming music rather than the plot, giving it a melodramatic tone that took away from the storyline. I thought the tale of Esther was complicated by adding in Prince Admantha. More time was spent focusing on the journey to Esther becoming Queen than the courage of her actions.Overall, I would say give this a try from Netflix if you enjoy a good story with some romance. I don't think I'd like to own the DVD, but it wasn't a bad way to spend a Sunday evening with my family.
janegray-218-916971 The movie overall was very good. The acting, directing, scripting, all good. The scenes and costumes are rich and beautiful, a feast for the eyes.My only complaint is that it didn't stick to the story in the Bible. I understand that there needed to be some embellishment, but to stray from the story like it did is disappointing. Tommy Tenney, the author of the book they derived the movie from is a well known Christian author and speaker. I haven't read the book, so I don't know if he too strayed so far from the actual story.I was also disappointed to see that they lost money on the film. I truly hope that will not discourage them from making more movies. We really need more movies that have good morals and standards, but that will keep you interested throughout the movie (and this one did). Not an easy task these days...
lolitabonitaboo lets start off by saying i think this movie did us,Persians no justice with choosing tiffany DuPont, I'm ashamed of the vision she made westerns believe ,Esther might be a Jew,but she was a Persian too, this movie's Esther is immature, selfish and sneaky, exactly characteristics that Iranians forbid their children and family fr having. NOW about the movie,Luke goss was too stiff and theatrical ,even tho i love him i can NOT think of him as the best option, tiffany DuPont?don't even get me started on here,in one scene she had tan lines,it just, makes me sick when directors and staff miss details that important, the rest of the movie was a stupid slow rip off of Muhammad, seriously waste of money, time and energy, buying the DVD was the most stupid decision i have ever made
Alek T (ak_t) I will make this short and simple. This movie being Christian was bound to be bad,but this was exceedingly bad on every level. The acting was just cheesy, the editing leaves you thinking why was that done in that way,why was that slow-mo there and that part of the scene should have been deleted, and what was this film crew thinking, the script writer had no idea how to develop characters and plots,Casting:terrible, clothes:terrible. There is not much to say about this movie other than it's just bad in every way.(except for scenery)I would only recommend this movie to you if you want to know how to make a bad movie. An utterly bad movie movie and a waste of time.I am disgusted that this movie got past a 5.5.
