A man and a woman meet in 1960. They marry because that's what you are supposed to do. But something goes wrong on their wedding night. They have no idea what to do with each other. Sexually. Emotionally. The husband meets a man who knows what to do with his sexuality. Suddenly a hand can do something no hand has done before and lips something no lips have ever done. The two men have a secret love affair. But there is a problem: The woman. And she has something up her sleeve. Will she act? Yes, she will. What happens? Nobody knows. Until now.

Rio Hayward All of these films share one commonality, that being a kind of emotional center that humanizes a cast of monsters.
Michelle Ridley The movie is wonderful and true, an act of love in all its contradictions and complexity
Horst in Translation (filmreviews@web.de) "Nu" or "Now" is a Danish/Swedish half-hour short film from over 10 years ago. It is black and white and the good thing for audiences is that everybody can watch it as there is almost no dialog in here, so you will not even need subtitles. The writer and director is Simon Staho and he got help with the script by Peter Asmussen, the writer of von Trier's "Dancer in the Dark". The cast includes not only Mads Mikkelsen who I am a great fan of, but also Persbrandt, Josephson and Moritzen, all actors with a truly respectable body of work, who belong to Scandinavia's finest, even if they may not be too well known outside Northern Europe. Unfortunately, the script here fails to build on this good basis of a cast. I was never really entertained watching this gay-themed film. It is certainly fairly atmospheric, but the story never achieves greatness or even goodness. Disappointing to me and I do not recommend the watch.
