Michael Jackson's Thriller Trailers

A night at the movies turns into a nightmare when Michael and his date are attacked by a horde of bloody-thirsty zombies. On top of the success of the Thriller album and Michael Jackson's electrifying performance at Motown 25, the short film/music video for "Thriller" established Jackson as an international superstar and global phenomenon. Thriller is credited for transforming music videos into a serious art form, breaking down racial barriers in popular entertainment, popularizing the making-of documentary format and creating a home video market. The success transformed Jackson into a dominant force in global pop culture. In 2009, it became the first music video inducted into the United States National Film Registry by the Library of Congress as "culturally, historically or aesthetically significant". "Thriller" was also Jackson's seventh and final U.S. Hot 100 Top 10 hit from the Thriller album. It was the first album in history to have seven U.S. Top 10s.

utgard14 I will definitely co-sign the statement of other reviewers that this is, without a doubt in my mind, the greatest music video ever made. Directed by John Landis when that was a good thing with makeup effects by the great Rick Baker, it just feels like a real effort was put forth that there isn't in 99% of music videos. The song is, of course, perfect. One of Michael's timeless classics. Vincent Price's part is something I still quote to this day. I am an old fogey who was alive when this was first released, by the way. This blew my young mind back then. That was back in the days when we had to wait for a video to show up on TV. We couldn't just watch it any time we wanted. We also used to wear onions on our belts because that was the style at the time, but I digress. Anyway, this is the best music video ever and my final word on it is that Ola Ray is beautiful and when I was a wee lad I wanted to marry her. I still do but I've accepted that ship not only sailed but it was lost at sea.
Kamini Abdool Thriller is a unique film that gave way to drama in both music video and movies of the 1980's. "Scary movie for sure," is what I thought when I first saw this movie in 1981. I was only six and it was the first English film that I ever saw. The combination of music and script is what made this movie interesting to me. Regardless of the fact that I was only six years old, and that it was scary to me, I still wanted to see it because of the music. Michael Jackson's sense of humor, and talent became immediately evident with the break out of the song and then the dancing changed me mind. I was able to watch the entire short film which I did see with Parental Consent and wanted to say that yes, that's the way it should have been. I don't think this is a film to see without an adult.
