Such a frustrating disappointment
Doomtomylo
a film so unique, intoxicating and bizarre that it not only demands another viewing, but is also forgivable as a satirical comedy where the jokes eventually take the back seat.

The acting is good, and the firecracker script has some excellent ideas.

This is a small, humorous movie in some ways, but it has a huge heart. What a nice experience.

now I'm not much for "chick flickery",and scary movies seem so watered down these days the only scary thing about them is the price you pay for crap!!! those "Teen struggle" movies don't really float my boat as well. That being said, Memento Mori is the perfect blend of all that! yes all that!!i know, it blends every thing i hate about movies and i love it!! its a creepy tail of two out-casted school girls with a powerful love for each other. set Inna Korean all girls school the two decide to write a dairy together to document their love. all is well until one of the girls gets drunk and has sex with one of the teachers. the other,of course, is hurt by that and starts avoiding her lover. mean wile one of their classmates stumbles across the dairy and starts reading. she reads of their relationship and sees all type of spells curses poems pictures. she also finds candy one left for the other, she eats it, turns the page and discovers its was a slow acting poison with note stating the poison comes with a spell saying "if you stop loving me you will die"!! (she doesn't)they struggle with classmates and their relationship, so of course they want to make it harder on each other by going public with their forbidden love. well, boom goes that idea in their faces. and the "cheated on" girl does not like the negative attention, calls the other to their secret spot on the roof, she brakes it off, and the other jumps off the roof. the madness begins!! the girl becomes a ghost, stalking all those who bullied her. in the process her lover thinks back on their falling out and wishes she never left her despite of her cheating with the teacher. after the ghostly chaos the movie ends with a depressing version of the happy birthday song by the girl who becomes the ghost.all in all, great movie. its the saddest thing since old yeller, or Bambi, it left a deep deep impression on me that i will carry to the grave. never before has a movie grabbed me and pulled me in the way this bone chilling gripping movie has, if they maid it in the u.s. it would have been a hit. so if you like the weak, cliché riddled American horror films that disgusts more then scare, you waisted your time reading this. ha ha ha,but if you like a good story and a "mess with your head" type film Memento Mori is perfect for you,so,buy it buy it buy it!!! stop reading and buy it!!!! 10/10

This film was quite disappointing really. Not much happens in it, and it certainly wasn't very scary at all. The freakiest thing in the film will be the fact that the diary was very densely written in, and it reflects a very obsessive personality of the writer. At the beginning, the intrigue of the diary barely keeps you on your toes, and as the film dragged on, you just start losing any other interest in it.Acting was pretty OK, but by no means amazing. I guess the film does reflect on the compulsiveness of the characters within it - this is the only interesting bit I think. If you wanted to see a film scarier than this, and leave you with something to think about, I suggest 'A tale of two sisters' instead.

Haunting the Foreign Film section of the local Hollywood Video (the only local video outlet that boasts a substantial selection) has proved greatly rewarding on numerous occasions. Among my favorite foreign films are the Asian fright films- not the gory stuff like ICHI THE KILLER or the over-the-top fare like BATTLEFIELD BASEBALL (which borders on being the kind of movie that Troma Films cranks out with alarming irregularity), but the understated (and underrated), satisfyingly spooky stuff like WHISPERING CORRIDORS, DARK WATER, PREMONITION, PHONE, A TALE OF TWO SISTERS and MOMENTO MORI (to name but a few). The latter, in particular, warrants a look. Though it's referred to as a sequel to the aforementioned WHISPERING CORRIDORS, it's very much its own entity (chuckle). If you're tired (as I am) of American "murder movies," I suggest a subtle (and most satisfying) change of pace: MOMENTO MORI.

Young lesbians at Korean high school for girls have a rough go of it. Death separates the young lovers and soon after the school seems haunted. I have seen a number of good Korean films, including some very creepy horror gems, but this sure ain't one of them. The movie takes a very long time to get rolling, it's about 40 minutes into the film before we get some idea of where the heck it's going. Prior to that the viewer is indulged in the neurotic lives of a bevy of young girls who seem overly fond of abusing one another verbally...and sometimes physically. The film's climax is nearly an unintentionally comic episode, though it takes itself seriously. Unfortunately, many horror films today resort to the flimsy gimmick of having the characters wax hysteric in an effort to increase tension. Perhaps this is more typical of high school behavior than I know, but let's hope not.
