Am I Missing Something?
Brendon Jones
It’s fine. It's literally the definition of a fine movie. You’ve seen it before, you know every beat and outcome before the characters even do. Only question is how much escapism you’re looking for.

Close shines in drama with strong language, adult themes.

.Like the great film, it's made with a great deal of visible affection both in front of and behind the camera.

This is a film that puts 2 plays written by Frank Wedekind into one movie. Lulu is theatre at its best. Wonderful actors, camera that gives you the impression of really being part of it, a director who puts it all together, stages the movie so that you can't decide: movie, stage, chamber play? and the music in between the scenes is very funny. Jessica Schwarz in the title role is very authentic and imho the best Lulu I've ever seen. If you want to see really erotic scenes forget Hollywood and see this movie. Its a pity, this extremely underrated movie is very rarely shown on TV. Arte come on, show it again!
