Huievest Instead, you get a movie that's enjoyable enough, but leaves you feeling like it could have been much, much more.
HottWwjdIam There is just so much movie here. For some it may be too much. But in the same secretly sarcastic way most telemarketers say the phrase, the title of this one is particularly apt.
Geraldine The story, direction, characters, and writing/dialogue is akin to taking a tranquilizer shot to the neck, but everything else was so well done.
mdhjmc An excellent cast, production values and tight, sensitive direction made for a very exciting film. Then the anvil dropped. Hannah's brother wasn't killed! He's an outlaw. Hannah will now search for him in a film which was never produced or a t.v. spinoff series made. Those of us who hoped that Hannah would be able to have a different life were disappointed. (Just saw the film here in Australia -July 2018)
beachy-38431 Finally, a western where the hero is a small, but strong young woman. The cast was wonderful especially Sara Canning, and the actor who played Doc Holiday. I have since seen him in two other movies and this is truly his best. I am now a fan of his and Sara Canning. And a young black woman as a stage coach guard! The history of black people in the west is mostly ignored by Hollywood. Good going Hallmark. I wish you would do more movies like this one. And one reviewer was sure this was a prelude for a series. Looks like after 8 years you were wrong, as was your review. But I would like to see these actors in another movie.
kamikaze-4 Remember the WB network? They researched how FOX and UPN were able to attract young audiences with 90210 and Smallville respectively?. WB tried their hand at capitalizing on the younger audience with TV series pilots featuring a young Aquaman (Mercy Reef), The Lone Ranger, and Heaven forbid, a young Barnabas Collins in a teen oriented Dark Shadows. That is what this movie resembles. First off, a TV movie made in Canada which looks like a pilot for a prospective series. A young bounty hunter searches for the men who killed her family. She gets help from a young Wyatt Earp and a young Doc Holliday. Oh please, and this pilot(?) is setting up for a teen oriented series with the bounty hunter looking for her brother who wasn't killed by the bad guys, but has become an outlaw himself. As usual Billy Zane and Danny Glover are wasted.
Jennifer (LadySailor1975) I normally don't watch Hallmark originals. They can be a little corny. But, John Pyper-Ferguson is one of my favorite actors. I became a fan of him when he was on Brisco County Jr (1993-94). So, I watched this.Hannah (Sara Canning) is only a child when she watches, from a hiding place, her entire family killed for their horses. The leader of the gang, Frank McMurphy (JPF), is very heartless and non-caring. Hannah is later raised by another bounty hunter, who is also now a wanted man. Hannah has a reputation for always bringing bounties in alive. She does not have it in her heart to kill, no matter how dangerous the criminal.Hearing of Hannah and that she is after him, McMurphy decides to go after her before she can come for him. He and his men ride into town, where they confront Hannah and her friends. Hannah learns from a now-injured McMurphy that her brother was not killed that day, but was raised by the gang and was one of the men who had faced her. He refuses to tell her which one he is. As it has been 12 years, she cannot recognize him. McMurphy is then shot by Wyatt, taunts Hannah one more time, and dies.I enjoyed this movie and hope that it goes to DVD soon. The storytelling was pretty good, the acting from most of the cast was excellent, especially SC and JPF. The film has no foul language and limited violence (until the end of it). It is a good one for adults, teens, and older kids. I did think there was a little too much dialog with little action through many scenes, but it was altogether a very good movie. Danny Glover has a brief role in this movie also. He was the usual excellent actor that he has always been. However, I did not buy Greyston Holt as Wyatt Earp. He was too neatly-dressed and clean-cut for that. Kevin Costner and Kurt Russell were the best Wyatt Earp players. Now, what are you waiting for? See it.
