Reviews
Tedfoldol everything you have heard about this movie is true.
Helloturia I have absolutely never seen anything like this movie before. You have to see this movie.
Ella-May O'Brien Each character in this movie — down to the smallest one — is an individual rather than a type, prone to spontaneous changes of mood and sometimes amusing outbursts of pettiness or ill humor.
Cassandra Story: It's very simple but honestly that is fine.
Matthew Gill Very much in the mold of the Blair Witch Project and Willow Creek, Hangar 10 uses tension and atmosphere to create the scares rather than blood and gore. With the use of bleak English settings and eerie noises its up to you the viewer to imagine what is out there in the cold wet misty woods. Like all good found footage films Hangar 10 builds the tension progressively and takes you on a visual roller-coaster ride rather than displaying a crafted storyline or treating the viewer to complex characters. For me this film has everything it takes to make a great horror film, creepy setting, early jump scares, good effects, eerie unexplained noises, no hope for the films protagonists and most of all weirdness. Such a shame found footage doesn't lend to sequels too well as this is another classic that demands answers!!!
don-44-221669 There is an easy way to sum up this movie. Say you have a budget of $2,000US and you live near a field. All you need to do is buy a $50 camera at Walmart, ask your friends, "Hey want to be in a Movie and be Famous?" and Adobe CS5.For the movie run around in the fields and record yourselves screaming for one hour. Then put the video on you laptop and edit.WAALAA! Instant sensation! Make a commercial of the movie and only show the audience getting scared. Then make a scary cover for you DVD.Let the sheep buy it! On a lighter note, this is a terrible terrible movie. Please don't torture your eyes and waste your time watching it. Go outside for an hour instead and thank God your alive...
linz-andrews Hangar 10 has a fairly slow build at the start, which is typical of a found footage film, but despite that, still has you gripped very quickly. It's incredibly tense, which is what I loved about the film. I found it took me several hours after for my shoulders to return to their normal position! What I loved most about the film and what set it aside from any other film I have seen before, is the way it had my imagination running absolutely wild. Throughout the film I was left wondering if I was seeing things or if what I thought I saw was actually there in the picture. After chatting to my friends after the film, it seemed we had all seen very different things and at very different times which I thought was amazing. I think if I watched it again I would have a different experience, which is also great and makes it appealing to watch a second time. The effects are fantastic, which surprised me given the films low budget.A lot of the reviews I have read on here seem to mainly criticise a lack of story line or major action sequence, but strangely that's actually one of the things that I really liked about it and made it different. There doesn't need to be a side story or a big event because what more is needed then just the intense atmosphere and the fact there is an alien presence. That's not to say there is no action, just that the action in the film is paced differently then your regular horror/sci-fi film.I think the film is really what you make of it. If you have a good imagination and just let the story take you with it, you feel like you are part of the experience and one which feels real and not over the top or over blown.I recommend this film for people who are open minded and prepared to just go with the ride and who are truly amazed by the idea of an alien encounter, without unnecessary over the top frills!
monkeygirlsmama This movie was terrible. I love a good alien flick, and this new "found footage" styling has its merits, but only when done well. This movie was neither entertaining or exciting. There were a couple of almost moments; however, it was mostly just a lot of waiting around for something to happen. There's a plot, but it's weak. There's an underlying element of alien spookiness, but it never really gets played out well. From the home camera footage to the lack of any real story within the plot to the overly anti-climatic ending, I basically kept thinking to myself it was like watching the travesty of the Blair Witch Project all over again. Except only with the hint of alien flair.
