Reviews
Redwarmin This movie is the proof that the world is becoming a sick and dumb place
Dynamixor The performances transcend the film's tropes, grounding it in characters that feel more complete than this subgenre often produces.
Aneesa Wardle The story, direction, characters, and writing/dialogue is akin to taking a tranquilizer shot to the neck, but everything else was so well done.
Allison Davies The film never slows down or bores, plunging from one harrowing sequence to the next.
249 Basically an updated remake of Bucktown......with Bus as Fred Williamson.......and that pretty model in the Pam Grier role. This is halfway decent flick that could have been a great and funny B movie.... good performances from X to the Z, and from Spliff Starr as a "latino thug"...... I tried to watch the entire flick without pushing the fast forward button...but after 3 attempts..I just gave up.Busta has good screen presence..but this director does him dirty by shooting this movie like it was an After School Special. He tries his best fill the "Hammer's" on screen shoes though with tough talk, swagger, and beat downs galore...The model in Pam Grier's role.....cannot fill her shoes..or her bra, for that matter.....she's cleavage deprived..fortunately...one of the women playing Bus' father's girlfriend has more than enough cleavage to make up for that. Her name is Masasa....and her cleavage baring wake-weeping shot steals the scene......She is fully developed......which is the opposite of what I can say for this film......Full Clip is really only shell casings....
bmdevon A slow-paced but "noirish" action comedy, Bustah Rhymes is perfect as a tough guy who unwittingly goes to collect his inheritance and ends up in a fight with a local sheriff. This is a whole lot better than the predictable, hip hop movie formulaic drivel that Hollywood insists on releasing. Xzibit and Spliff are good comic relief as his sidekicks that get greedy. Bubba"Hightower"Smith shows up as a talkative Hotel manager. This quirky tale loosely interlaced around a western has a weird funeral director and ellen cleghorn as a sidewalk psychic "Mistress Cleo" type. This was a very offbeat film which really didn't go anywhere but was still interesting and amusing. I appreciated all the cool action with the dual pistols Joshua pope had. Wyclef jean is very good as the guitar playing prophet and narrator of Pope. The film had good energy and cool art direction, well worth watching.
Marcus_Calvert The movie opens with a nice shoot-out scene, unfortunately the movie goes downhill from that point on. The following 87 minutes of the movie feature some of the worst acting I've seen in a long time. And it's not just the main character, played by Busta Rhymes, it's almost everyone in the entire movie (how is this possible?). With action movies I don't think an original plot is a necessity, although its preferable, but the dialogue/acting is pretty bad, so bad actually, I could hardly put myself up to watch the entire piece. To sum it up: the action-scenes are OK I guess, not very good but entertaining. However the acting is pretty bad (pretty = really) and the plot is non-existent. If you can't help yourself, rent it, if you're smart, you'll spend the 90 minutes you need to watch this movie doing something more useful and fun, like re-arranging your sock drawer. My opinion: 3/10 (and I'm being lenient)
chrisives I've seen this movie, where to begin? It stars Busta Rhymes and Xzibit as lead characters, with a weak plot. Horrible dialogue and scenes. It may sound strange, but XZibit and Rhymes being the lead characters wasn't the main reason this picture failed. I think if they had a supporting plot, character relations and dialogue it would have been sub-par, compared to just plain horrible. The plot follows Rhymes' character 'Pope' who is returning to the town where his father was killed. Thats about as deep as the story goes right there. Some shotty action scenes complemented by no real direction bring this "picture" to a close.Don't see it unless you like critiquing.
