Salubfoto It's an amazing and heartbreaking story.
OllieSuave-007 This cartoon short featuring the Pink Panther is not one of my favorites. Here, the panther somehow finds his way back in the time of the dinosaurs, where creatures are starving. The panther finds a bone and was about to make a meal out of it, but the annoying pointy-nose man, snatched it away from him. Then, a little dinosaur snatches away from him, and a large dinosaur snatches it away from him. That is the extent of this cartoon - just a lot of running around with the Panther and company snatching the bone away from one another. Ultimately, ***spoiler ahead*** none of the creatures get the bone as it ended up being eaten by a crocodile. ***spoiler ends*** There is laugh track to this short, but, it's probably of the least funniest Pink Panther cartoons I've seen.Grade D
TheLittleSongbird Not among the best of The Pink Panther cartoons, but not among the worst. To sum Extinct Pink up from personal opinion, it would be decent but not great. It is let down by a really obtuse ending that makes everything else that came before it feel pointless and the laugh-track that was distracting and not needed, I'm not going to be as harsh as the reviewer who disliked this cartoon but his main problems with it do mirror my own so its understandable where he's coming from. I however do think that despite those problems that Extinct Pink is a funny cartoon, what happens between the characters is not going to be of any surprise- apart from how nobody fighting over the bone really wins- but how the characters interact with one another and the brisk pacing make the story enjoyable enough. The gags are very true to the style usually seen with the Pink Panther, and while there have been funnier gags in previous outings you do raise a smile at least for almost all of them apart from at the end. The animation is simple but fluid and colourful, again very true to the visual style that the cartoons adopt. The music has a subtle liveliness and the jazziness is part of the charm. The theme tune is still appealing for one so iconic. Pinky is funny and cool, and the little man and the dinosaurs support him well. On the whole, not a great cartoon but despite the ending and the laugh-track Extinct Pink is decent. 7/10 Bethany Cox
Atreyu_II "Extinct Pink" takes us to the prehistoric times, when life on Earth was just beginning. Fighting for food and survival was already a reality. The Pink Panther lives that reality here, but he's not alone. A short and pointy-nosed caveman, a big blue dinosaur, and a small green lizard are all hungry and they all want the bone which was found by the Pink Panther. They all chase each other just to get the bone. But the way this story is told is funny because, after all, this is a Pink Panther short... with the typical humor from the Pink Panther's shorts. All these characters have their humorous moments. They do hilarious and crazy things just to get the bone. The caveman, despite his short temper, is responsible for most of the funny moments of this short. He is almost eaten in 3 occasions. First, he gets into the dinosaur's mouth. Then, he goes into the mouth of a crocodile. And after that, he's almost the dinner of a plant! However, at the end, none of them gets the bone. All those fights were useless. The bone ends up falling from a precipice and a hungry crocodile eats it.
ccthemovieman-1 The opening graphic explains where we are: "Long, Long Ago - When The World Was Young......and Hungry!" We see it's prehistoric times as the Pink Panther is walking around in his caveman outfit looking for food. The problem is that all the other cavemen and animals are doing the same.Who does our hero first encounter? Why, the famous "Little White Man," who snatches a big bone from underneath the Panther's grasp. From that point, we follow the bone as it goes from one of four "people" - the Panther, the little man, a little green lizard or a giant blue dinosaur. The bone keep changing hands and each one who has it momentarily gets clobbered by one of the others.Overall, it wasn't all that funny, and had a stupid ending and was marred, once again, by the presence of a laugh track - the most insulting thing filmmakers can do to an audience. Hey, guys: please let US decide when to laugh!
