What a freaking movie. So many twists and turns. Absolutely intense from start to finish.

All of these films share one commonality, that being a kind of emotional center that humanizes a cast of monsters.

I think this is a new genre that they're all sort of working their way through it and haven't got all the kinks worked out yet but it's a genre that works for me.

It's a good bad... and worth a popcorn matinée. While it's easy to lament what could have been...

Anubhav Sinha after the decent TUM BIN and awful AAPKO PEHLE BHI KAHIN DEKHA HAI comes back with DUS a crap filmThe film has a nice concept but it's ruined by bad direction and writing There are lot of loopholes in the film like Abhishek and Zayed don't tell the authorities of Canada about the bomb blast but go the formulaic way Even the Pankaj Kapur's characterization which is straight from THE USUAL SUSPECTS is an irritantThe love angles and the Suneil and Raima subplot is more awful even the stunt scenes especially Gulshan's murder is childish and each action scene is shot like a video game which is awful Even how come Sanju comes to know the true identity of the villain is hard to digest Also the Abhishek sacrificial act seems forced in the climax and drags the film down The sole good scenes are the ones having Sanju and Shilpa Shetty like the one where Shilpa confronts Altaf and also Sanju finding out the culprit within his gang Direction by Anubhav Sinha isn't great, barring some few scenes Music is good, DUS BAHANE rocks Camera-work is very goodAmongst actors Sanjay Dutt though looking aged yet lends his part credibility and maturity- 8/10 Shilpa Shetty- matches the actor to the T, their chemistry is great and she plays her no- nonsense cop part very well- 8/10 Abhishek Bachchan- plays his easy going part very well and emotes well when required- 7/10 Zayed Khan- irritates with his winy delivery- 2/10 Suneil Shetty- has a brief role and he hams it up- 4/10 Pankaj Kapur does well in his role but overdoes it many times- 6/10 Diya Mirza has few scenes and Raima irritates

This is a bollywood production trying to make an action packed thriller like they make in Hollywood! Nothing wrong with that! The movie looks great and is very stylish! But soon these camera effects get very tiresome! The action scenes are edited so badly that it is very difficult to enjoy them! Some of the action scenes are choreographed in such a way that they don't make sense at all! Example of this is the scene where they encounter Gulshan Grover! I cannot begin to describe how stupid it looks when they try to kill him! He just is standing there with a bazooka without decent cover and still they have difficulties getting to him! Wasn't Abishek Bachan supposed to be a sniper! One shot in the head and it's over! No, they keep running around endangering themselves and then throw a grenade! Boom! Sure,it looks cool but also ridiculous at the same time! And it's like the director couldn't decide to make a thriller with action or an action movie full of suspense! On both fronts he fails! The plot is completely uninteresting! The twists and turns can be predicted from early on and the movie keeps dragging on into boredom! The movie does have some solid moments of suspense and drama! But simply not enough to reach the level of "24" (where this movie obvious is influenced by)! Too bad that the end result is like this! With more attention to logic and plot this movie could have been great! Now it just provides (barely) decent entertainment!

Dus a fantastic film with unforgettable twists and turns that keep you glued to your seat. Anubhav Sinha has done a remarkable job directing this film. The story is interesting and thrilling at the same time. Siddanth Dheer(Sanjay Dutt) runs an Anti-Terrorist-Cell in India. He has many people working for him, however, he has his favourites, who are also his most loyal and trustworthy employees. The first one is his little brother Shashank Dheer(Abhishek Bachchan)who is a calm, cool worker with no hassles. The second one is Aditya Singh,(Zayed Khan)a suave, lovable officer with a weakness for women, especially Shashank and Siddhanth's younger sister Anu (Diya Mirza). Finally there is Aditi Kumar(Shilpa Shetty) a hard-core gal that has no problem kicking terrorist butt! Siddhanth also has a soft spot for Aditi and they share a sweet, silent relationship. The film starts with Siddhanth receiving information that an international terrorist named Jambwal is on the loose and is planning a huge bomb blast on 10th May.(hence the name 'Dus') Siddhanth sends Aditya and Shashank to Canada to capture Himmat Mehendi,(Pankaj Kapur)an ex-follower of Jambwal who will know the mysterious secret that that the ATC team want to know. Himmat is kidnapped by Shashank and Aditya along with secret agent Neha(Esha Deol). The team also meet Dan,(Suniel Shetty)a Canadian cop with a gripping past. Just when the story is falling into place, Anubhav Sinha shoves in a twist that shakes it all. As the audience are making sense of the first twist, another twist is put in, changing everything.Sanjay Dutt does a fantastic job as the suspicious, yet caring chief. However, he is showing some elderly signs. Abhishek Bachchan has improved a lot, his comic scenes with Sanjay are hilarious! Shilpa Shetty makes you drool with her looks, hair and awesome toned body. Suniel Shetty makes a gritty performance. Esha Deol is disappointing. She fails to make an impact on the audience. Zayed Khan is the most notable and portrays his character completely. Diya Mirza and Raima Sen(Suniel's ex-wife)make short appearances and are forgotten. Pankaj Kapur does a marvellous job.On the whole, 'Dus' is a film that provides action, drama, romance and comedy all in one.

This is a wonderful breath taking movie. The story kept moving without a pause and the first song was very catchy. The actors did a wonderful job. Sanjay's role was the best. Somehow, he is better off as a don or a cop compared to a pursuing lover. Zayed and Sunil did outstanding as well. AB Jr.is probably the most honored and noblest person in the movie. Shilpa had an interesting character as a daring female cop. We don't see this very often. I think she should have had a bit more role in action not just supporting Sunil. Esha was okay but her hair really bothered me. Overall, the movie was filled with twists and turns. It really keeps you guessing what happens and who is who. This is nicely done and I give two thumbs up for story line. I find that Sanjay, Sunil, AB Jr and Zayed are better off in action films than love stories. They give more depth when they portray "tough guys".
