Hellen I like the storyline of this show,it attract me so much
TrueHello Fun premise, good actors, bad writing. This film seemed to have potential at the beginning but it quickly devolves into a trite action film. Ultimately it's very boring.
Grimossfer Clever and entertaining enough to recommend even to members of the 1%
Yazmin Close shines in drama with strong language, adult themes.
ma-cortes This Gazpacho Western deals with a Mestizo named Peter (Hugo Blanco) who goes home and finds his sister committed suicide by hanging and learns she was left by a seducer , a Roja Casaca or ¨Red Long Coat¨ from Mounted Police , for that reason he seeks vengeance . Mestizo goes to Fort Pit where is a regiment of North West Mounted Police dressed in deep red , being commanded by a tough captain (Luis Prendes) and he works as a scout and looks for the enemy to get revenge ; Peter suspects a sergeant , and soldiers (Gustavo Rojo) . Meanwhile , there takes place the Louis Riel's revolt who supported by two underlings (Armando Calvo , Luis Induni) and allied to Indians , all of them attack the fort . While , Mestizo falls in love with a gorgeous girl (Susana Campos ), soldier's girlfriend . Later on , Mestizo is imprisoned by Indians , being mistreated and tortured . This is effortless and below average story in Paella Western sub-genre style , thus the picture mingles the Canadian theme similarly to ¨Unconquered¨ by Cecil B De Mille and the vengeance plot , usual in Spaghetti Western . However the movie follows more the American models than Spaghetti wake . As it results to be a familiar film , with no much violence , exception the hanging at the beginning . The picture contains an exciting and spectacular final battle with hundred extras , when the regiment is besieged by Indians and Louis Riel troops , realized in ¨Little Big Horn¨ style . In fact , the film producers thanksgiving to Spanish Army for their collaboration. Regularly played by Hugo Blanco , an usual secondary along with Gustavo Rojo , Luis Prendes who play convincingly an upright and stiff captain . Special mention to Armando Calvo , a veteran of Spanish cinema , here acting as a nasty rebel . Many other familiar faces from Chorizo/Spaghetti , there appears ordinary secondaries in Spanish/Italian Western such as Alfonso Rojas , Rufino Ingles , Frank Braña , Rafale Vaquero , Luis Marin and several others. Mediocre photography by Francisco Sempere , being necessary a right remastering because of the film copy is washed out , filmed on location in Las Rozas , Manzanares , Navacerrada Madrid . The movie was produced in enough budget by Atlantida Films/Jose Frade productions that financed several Western during the 60s and early 70s such as ¨Cuatreros¨ , ¨Mestizo¨ , ¨Challenge of McKenna¨ , ¨The mercenary¨ , ¨Los Compañeros¨, ¨twenty dollars for seven¨ and ¨Saddle tramps¨ , among others. The motion picture was regularly directed by Julio Buchs . Julio Buchs was an expert on thriller as he proved in ¨Salario De Crimen¨, ¨Alta tension¨ and ¨Trumpets of Apocalypse¨ and Spaghetti such as ¨Los Desesperados¨, ¨I'll kill him and return alone¨ also titled ¨El Hombre Mató Billy Kid¨ and ¨Mestizo¨ or ¨Django does not forgive¨ . Along with ¨A bullet for Sandoval¨ , considered one of the best Spaghetti , the Buchs's best film was ¨Encrucijada Una Monja¨ with Rosanna Schiaffino playing a similar character to ¨Audrey Hepburn's The nun's story¨ ; both of them were well directed by Julio until his early death at 46 years old.The flick was partially based on historical deeds upon Riel revolt , these are the following : Louis David Riel was a Canadian politician, a founder of the province of Manitoba, and a political and spiritual leader of the Métis people of the Canadian prairies. He led two resistance movements against the Canadian government . Riel sought to preserve Métis rights and culture as their homelands in the Northwest came progressively under the Canadian sphere of influence. He is regarded by many as a Canadian folk hero today. The first resistance was the Red River Rebellion of 1869–1870. The provisional government established by Riel ultimately negotiated the terms under which the modern province of Manitoba entered the Canadian Confederation. Riel was forced into exile in the United States as a result of the controversial execution of Thomas Scott during the rebellion. Despite this, he is frequently referred to as the "Father of Manitoba". While a fugitive, he was elected three times to the Canadian House of Commons, although he never assumed his seat. During these years, he was frustrated by having to remain in exile despite his growing belief that he was a divinely chosen leader and prophet, a belief which would later resurface and influence his actions. Riel returned to what is now the province of Saskatchewan to represent Métis grievances to the Canadian government. This resistance escalated into a military confrontation known as the North-West Rebellion of 1885. It ended in his arrest, trial, and execution on a charge of high treason. Riel was viewed sympathetically in Francophone regions of Canada, and his execution had a lasting influence on relations between the province of Quebec and English-speaking Canada. Whether seen as a Father of Confederation or a traitor, he remains one of the most complex, controversial, and ultimately tragic figures in the history of Canada.
