Reviews
RyothChatty ridiculous rating
2hotFeature one of my absolute favorites!
Stevecorp Don't listen to the negative reviews
Sarita Rafferty There are moments that feel comical, some horrific, and some downright inspiring but the tonal shifts hardly matter as the end results come to a film that's perfect for this time.
kz917-1 Ugh.Candace Cameron Bure is a doctor attempting to follow in her father's footsteps and be a medical fellow in Boston. She only applies to one location and doesn't receive an invitation. She ends up in Garland, Alaska (read podunk Alasaka) where there is one general store and one handyman and one electrician, etc..Things are different in Garland and some things seem off, others magical even..In the end the story is bland and Candace, well if I had some spiked egg nog this movie might have been palatable. Move along to the next movie and leave this one under the tree.
rizdek I enjoyed this movie for the interspersed humor, beautiful scenery, interaction of the main actors and mostly because it was relaxing to watch. I watch movies like this to relax and NOT be jarred out of a calm mood and this one succeeded. The overall concept wasn't original, and for the most part the end was predictable, so if you want surprises, this probably isn't for you. But for me, overall, the movie worked.
Julia Quist No better or worse than any of the Hallmark Christmas movies, predictable, forgettable, and perfect viewing for the movie goer that buys Christmas gifts in July , wrapped and ready to be mailed by August first. This genre's only purpose is to sell stuff that no one really needs. As an Alaskan, what I find offensive is the collage of images from the continental US, specifically Utah used to represent the fictitious, town of Garland, Alaska. The caricature portrayal of the "Alaskans" does not help either. But in all fairness all films that deal with Alaska (except for one) regardless of their budget have failed in that department.
jldeangelis "Christmas Under Wraps" left me waiting, until watching it a second time and seeing how the plans made for a lifetime and struggles of change from a small to a big city can change. You need to watch this movie.I have watched a majority of Hallmark's 12 new Holiday movies, some at least 2-3x each.Enjoying, "The Town Christmas Forgot", "Christmas with Tucker" ..."Debbie Macomber's Mrs. Miracle" pulled it off flawlessly in its connection. "Debbie Macomber's Mr. Miracle" was lighthearted humor.
