Reviews
Seraherrera The movie is wonderful and true, an act of love in all its contradictions and complexity
Keira Brennan The movie is made so realistic it has a lot of that WoW feeling at the right moments and never tooo over the top. the suspense is done so well and the emotion is felt. Very well put together with the music and all.
Edwin The storyline feels a little thin and moth-eaten in parts but this sequel is plenty of fun.
Cassandra Story: It's very simple but honestly that is fine.
SnoopyStyle 12 year old Casey Baker (Jordy Benattar) lost her mother 8 years before. Her father Jeffrey (James Gallanders) hides in his work. She's left with her grandfather Charlie (Tom Bosley) often. While Jeffrey is away on a business trip, Charlie has a heart attack but he doesn't want to spend his remaining time dealing with his illness. Dr. Robert Graham (Barclay Hope) may have a clinical trial and Jeffrey can't deal with the possibility of losing Charlie. Dr. Fran Gilford (Cara Pifko) works with Dr. Graham as well as his ex.It's real nice to see Tom Bosley doing work and he looks great in one of his last few movies. He looks sharp. Jordy Benattar is cute and has some spunk to her. They have a nice sweet chemistry together. I would be fine if this movie is only about them. On the other, I found the father rather bland and I don't really feel invested in his relationship with Dr. Gilford. It's a TV movie and it has about that level of production value. I also wish the writing was sharper for Bosley to play with. Little Jordy is able to bring the emotional punch. It's a nice low key family movie.
wopstaff This movie was a movie that I would love to view with my grown children and my grandchildren. Tom Bosley is an excellent actor and the young girl who played Casey was amazing. It was so real watching Casey and her grandpa's closeness as she helped him and learned from him. Our daughter had this closeness with her grandpa, especially when he was sick and taken to the hospital and the doctors said there was no hope and she laid on his bedside and prayed that he would live. And he did for 10 more years. She was only 8 at the time. Taking time for the ones you love is so much more important that working your life away as we did sometimes as parents.
jpeacock77227 This is a great movie about an issue most of us will face at some point; the illness of a beloved family member. Tom Bosley is terrific as the grandfather. Jordy Benatar, who plays his grand daughter Casey, is full of personality. They have great chemistry together. The story is very well written, and gets right to the heart of the problems the family is going through. It is a movie that can be used to teach children about illness and death. Although it is sad, it is also hopeful. All the characters are interesting and fun to watch. Even though the movie has a sad theme, it has lots of fun parts. The grandfather is so wonderful and loving, it reminded us of all the great times we had with the grandfathers in our family. This is a movie that can be enjoyed by every age group. I have not seen a movie like this before, that is appropriate for such a wide audience. I loved the movie, and really enjoyed seeing Tom Bosley. He comes across as being a grand man.
edwagreen We've seen it so many times before. Grandpa is stricken with a severe coronary, but this time the precocious and often obnoxious little girl lies to protect him. She is invariably afraid of the surgery he may have to have to survive. Of course, it turns out that the girl was right and we're supposed to listen to her rather than the physician, the latter played by Barclay Hope, young, with a cold veneer but hungry for love.Grandpa Tom Bosley gives his all to the story, but the writing is so obvious.Despite a surprise ending, we've seen so much of this before. Of course, love doesn't bloom between Grandpa's widower son and the doctor's ex-girl friend.
