KnotStronger This is a must-see and one of the best documentaries - and films - of this year.
Aneesa Wardle The story, direction, characters, and writing/dialogue is akin to taking a tranquilizer shot to the neck, but everything else was so well done.
edwardlewismulholland There are some interesting plot features such as his blind room-mate, but they ultimately don't contribute to the storyline (which is predictable and not very complex). Its as if they've been put in to hide the fact that this is an unoriginal mix of a fast and furious movie and a typical 'boy meets girl' love story. The main problem is the reliance on music. Music can make any moment in a film magical, but this relies heavily on a certain taste of music to boost any given seen above a mildly entertaining level. If you dont like this music, you dont like the film. I asked a few people why they liked it so much and they just said 'the music!!!!'. Its well choreographed, and I'd watch it for free on netflix but otherwise.... nothing to see here.
hazeleng Even though it was an enjoyable movie, I was mostly bothered with how hard it tries to fit in with the cinematic cliches. The whole movie is so bothered with aesthetics and so in your face that it gets annoying, Its classic "hollywood" type movie even though they try so hard to hide fact by using all the "cinematically aesthetic cliches". Aside from that enjoyable if you're looking for an average car robbery movie.
Phillip Ayscue Haven't been as disappointed in a movie in a looooong time. Best part was opening driving segment distributed on YouTube years ago. Jon Hamm & Jamie Foxx delivered terrific performances. That's it
kbommaraju I really enjoyed this movie because of the real (non CGI) car chases and the use of a constant soundtrack. The stars of the film give great performances. The movie even holds up on second viewing. One of the coolest things I read about the lead actor is that he asked the director if he could have the Subaru WRX from the beginning of the movie. He ended up getting it as a birthday present.Overall, you feel good when you finish watching this and it doesn't seem that cheesy or far-fetched, which is often the biggest problem with heist movies. The soundtrack is great with everything from hip-hop to country. And there are quite a few stars if that's what you're into. Also, the girlfriend character and the diner reminded me of the diner from the original Twin Peaks. Not sure if that was intentional.
