Nicole I enjoyed watching this film and would recommend other to give it a try , (as I am) but this movie, although enjoyable to watch due to the better than average acting fails to add anything new to its storyline that is all too familiar to these types of movies.

pinkarray A lot of people have been comparing this to Cowboy Bebop. While Vash may contrast an idealistic view on the world with Spike's cynical, sarcastic personality, I still liked them both. They were great western series from the 90s that should stand the test of time.I don't really like half of the anime from the 90s that focused on psychological elements even though many people called it the best decade for anime, there were still a few that came out that I liked. But this and Cowboy Bebop were the best one.This anime is about a guy who has caused destruction in July City which gives him the 60 billion double dollar bounty on his head. Almost everyone hates him and wants to catch him. But Vash is actually an innocent guy who has never did anything wrong. Vash and Wolfwood are funny, kind male characters with their strengths and weaknesses and I liked their relationship.Now, the other characters such as the Insurance girls are kind of typical anime characters. Milly is sometimes stupid and Meryl is a tsundere who is in love with Vash, so I don't really care much for them. They're mediocre, I guess. A few of the more minor characters are able to grow on me such as Jessica, or have likable personalities such as Rem.The villains are eh... not that great. They drag down the series and I understand that but I still think they're too evil.The story is action-packed and exciting to watch. Vash may be a little too wise with his never kill moral because what if he's in a situation where he has to defend himself? But he realizes in the end, it's okay to make mistakes. He can cry a little too much but I like that he sympathizes with the suffering.Overall, Trigun is not half-bad. Give it a try, you might be surprised. Even though it did have its flaws that stop it from being an excellent anime, Vash is still one of the best characters in anime history.

Marcko9790 This anime is unlike any other. It is a unique example of...something. I don't know how to explain Trigun without going into too many spoilers.The main story is that this guy, Vash The Stampede, is a guy with 60 billion double dollars on his head. Everyone says that he is the most dangerous and misery creating bandit on the planet called "Gunsmoke" where the show is set. But Vash is no evil man, all he wants is to live according to the phrase "Love & Peace" and eat donuts all day. But of course since this is a show that got action and comedy in it we know that his lifestyle won't hold for too long. I can also mention that the show looks a lot and feels a lot like it is VERY Western like, and that is kind of what gives the show it's charm. I'm also gonna mention that even though he got a big *beep* revolver, he never wants to kill everyone, which makes him sort of a gunslinging, redcoat wearing Batman.Every character in this show plays their part perfectly and never over- stays their welcome. My favorites on this show though have to be Vash and Wolfwood. They are both excellent in their own right, but the show is even more entertaining when they are in the same general area. The animation is nothing to brag about these days since it is from 1998, not saying that it is bad by any means, oh no. I quite like the old style of animation that Trigun got. The studio that made it, Madhouse, is these days more known for shows like Death Note and Hellsing Ultimate. But they did a great hob with Trigun, the animation flows perfectly. But one of the major things about this show that should be mentioned is the soundtrack...it is *beep* awesome. Tsuneo Imahori did an amazing job with it. He really captured the feeling of the show and every situation in it perfectly, why haven't he gotten any awards for it I wonder?So, Trigun is in short...one of the best shows ever. Both in anime and in general. And when I saw that there was a movie after I was done with the show I was over-joyed. Trigun is awesome and should be watched by anime fans and action/sci-fi/western/comedy/drama fans alike. Hell, it should be watched by EVERYONE!

Rei_Lilith I came across a video on youtube where someone presented his favourite anime heroes. The dynamic between characters Vash/Wolfwood shown in this short clip made me curious, so I went looking. And am really glad I did so, because that was something I will not forget anytime soon.The humour, timing and dynamic between the main characters are almost unparalleled. Joss Whedon's Firefly came to my mind, not only when the regular ass kicking starts (which is both awesome and hilarious at the same time), but also watching Vash, Wolfwood, Meryl and Milly fighting or just having a good time. There's a lot of goofing around in the first half of the series which still occurs from time to time later on, when the tone changes towards a darker, more serious one. You should have some tolerance for a certain amount of cartoonish off-goofing, though. Since the timing in the show can only be called superb, I almost died laughing in numerous scenes.The voice acting (Japanese version) was fantastic. I generally prefer subbed over dubbed, although that's open to anyone's personal preferences, I guess. But concerning a certain, deeply tragic scene towards the end of the show, XXX made me feel like sharp pieces of radioactive metal were piercing my throat, his American counterpart just could not create the same amount of compassion within me – by far. Seriously, Masaya Onosaka and Shō Hayami are incredible in their parts and manage to maintain a perfect balance between goofing around and touching you deeply (without the need to speak or understand Japanese to appreciate their performance). Very memorable, like the music of the show, adding immensely to the original setting and feel of Trigun. The animation fits the tone of the series perfectly, although it can be rather puristic at times.Luckily, Yasuhiro Naitō does not try too hard to impose the Christian values of his hero on the viewer. The question is rather, what do we do when the principles we were raised with don't longer apply to the world we are living in. Are principles really absolute? Under what circumstances can we be allowed to break the self-imposed or indoctrinated rules we live our lives by? And what will be the price we might have to pay for breaking with our morals and principles Great show. I could have watched dozens of more episodes. Good things always go way too quickly.
