It's no definitive masterpiece but it's damn close.

Bad Acting and worse Bad Screenplay

Walker was brilliant. The ensemble cast worked so well together. Most impressive was the intricate character development and detailed plot situations. Nothing was formula here. Outstanding writing! This may appeal to women most but it is not a "chick flick". It's sure to generate discussion and throughly entertain those who like a modern domestic drama. My first 10 star rating.

Some good, some bad but absolutely no Joy to balance the deceit and despair

The will she/won't she saga of wether Hannah will leave her husband Nathan for Christie became tedious and boring. The back story of Davey and Goldie was more interesting with good performances from Stephen Tompkinsin and Meera Syal was far more interesting. Not one of Nicola Walkers better performances.

We are now three episodes in and it has finally picked up... Nevermind the legal inaccuracies, it's a compelling story and a very relatable one if you've ever gone through a divorce, whether as a child or a spouse. Sure, it takes place in a very different world than most of us know, but it makes very little difference - we're all human. Nicola Walker is at the top of her game, and I'm particularly enjoying acerbic exchanges between Deborah Findlay and Annabel Scholey. The women have arrived!
