There are moments that feel comical, some horrific, and some downright inspiring but the tonal shifts hardly matter as the end results come to a film that's perfect for this time.

This show has flown under my radar, perhaps because Lifetime is a female centric network which doesn't have many adverts placed in other networks. When I found it I quickly went through the two available seasons because there's something fascinating about a diverse group of children who all suffer from what, for lack of any other explanation, is simply haunting memories from past lives. You don't have to believe in reincarnation to watch this show which strongly suggests that something relating to such is happening to children who, mostly, suffer painful memories of a past life. As a skeptic the best part of each case selected for episodes is the latter stages where, in most children, the people they have memories of are revealed to them. A few are high profile types while others are not. The fact that real people who these children claim to have been are almost always found by matching the knowledge of these people the children have absolutely no way to know by any rational explanation. The heaviness of it all is kept purely topical as there's no strange things like regressive hypnotic therapy or such touched on. Science is kept almost entirely out of this focusing more on the effect it has on the families and the children themselves. At times its quite powerful to see the kids and parents tearfully telling their experiences. The show is a bit formulaic which makes one wonder if it is entirely literal. For instance, almost all of the kids get some resolution in order to leave their past persona's behind. While this keeps things light it seems by rote after seeing it so many times. Of course, as a viewer seeing real people I want them to heal and have a wonderful and normal life. But, you get the feeling that maybe the show's formula is too much the same and there may be some liberties taken by the producers. At any rate I do stand by the statement I find it fascinating viewing and hope maybe the producers get a little more adventurous in both variations in cases and in presentation. Worth a watch if like shows such as Unsolved Mysteries and other phenomenon.
