Rijndri Load of rubbish!!

Merolliv I really wanted to like this movie. I feel terribly cynical trashing it, and that's why I'm giving it a middling 5. Actually, I'm giving it a 5 because there were some superb performances.

Bluebell Alcock Ok... Let's be honest. It cannot be the best movie but is quite enjoyable. The movie has the potential to develop a great plot for future movies

cmcnaul I read several other reviews and agree with most of them. Those coming from people of faith I felt were far more informative than the reviews from those who are apparently of no or little faith.I was completely annoyed with the so called "trumpets" blast that sounded familiarly like alien movies like The Mist and Cloverfield. The storyline barely followed prophesy or scripture. As another review noted that when the second coming of Christ appears in a 'cloud of glory', ALL will see Him. I don't believe just believers will see him, but every man, woman and child will truly see Him for who He is.This movie leaves one in great confusion as to what happened and who, when and where! I believe by unbelievers will already hate those of the Christian faith to the point that laws will be enacted to make Christianity illegal. Being blamed for all that ails the world. No one really knows when the anti-Christ will appear, though the Word says we will see the shadow of his approach. The unbelievers will be so glad to get rid of us, they'll probably be scared when the rapture occurs, then rejoice when we're gone. There will be a remnant of those left behind that will know they missed "the first train" home. When that's all done and over, then the really scary 'caca' hits the fan! The unbelievers by this time will know God was and is real, yet hate Him with every fiber of their being. So much so, that they will think they can actually beat Christ in the Battle of Armagedon and meet at Megiddo to fight the war to end all wars. None of this is featured in this series of movies(so there is no spoilers to warn)....Perhaps it was History Channel's intent to portray "the end times" in such a benign way? If that's so, then they achieved their intentions very well making this series. Only time will tell, as we are seeing the signs of Christ's return more and more than ever before.....as the Word 'also' says, '.....as you begin to see these happen, look up for redemption draws nigh."(Luke 21 and Romans 3)

aliciamnoda I fast forwarded through this series because it was just plain awful. First of all, the 7 year tribulation period will begin when the Antichrist signs a peace treaty with Israel. When Jesus spoke of the destruction of the temple he was speaking of when the Romans destroy the temple in 70 AD. The 7 headed-beast represents the worldwide political system-the one world government. The seven seals (Revelation (6:1-17, 8:1-5), seven trumpets (Revelation 8:6-13; 11:15-19), and seven bowls/vials (Revelation 16:1-21) are three succeeding series of end-times judgments from God. And not just children will disappear but all true believers will be raptured, or caught up in the air, before the tribulation period.

John Beck This seems like it was purposely produced to warn us of what is coming. You will find that Christians are the worst critics of it. "It got this wrong, it got that wrong," etc. The majority of Christians today are in false churches and are obsessed with SELF. They consider themselves all knowing and all seeing when in fact they are enabling the coming of the Antichrist. This movie wasn't perfect - the ending for instance was a huge letdown, but hey it was just the last five minutes of the film. Everything else concerning the portrayed events is really already going on in one form or another. The persecution of Christians in America is well on it's way; we have a tyrannical president who promised hope and delivered hell; the military buildup with weapons returning from war in the Middle East is already happening. Also loved how they interpreted the booms and trumpet noises as being harbingers of the last days - something that is really going on and in the news everyday and many of believe they ARE signs. They used real footage of actual events throughout the movie - even getting in the house-to-house raids in Boston after the bombing. Maybe all the so-called Christian critics didn't recognize that much footage was taken from real life. They were too busy hating.The whole idea of government created pandemics, disposing of the elderly and infirmed - that's already here too, though not on the mass scale portrayed in the movie -- but we're getting there. This movie was awesome! Yes I hated the shaky camera "Blair Witch Project" cinematography, but maybe - just maybe - that will be the appeal to the younger people who live as quickly and shakily as the camera angles in this digital age. It's coming folks; and regardless of who tries to pick apart the scripture presented in the movie - most of it was pretty accurate. They left out the false prophet and the Pope etc., but hey - it wasn't perfect. It was, however, a prophetic warning delivered to the people to wake them up. Let's hope it will get through to some people and the the Christians don't ruin it for everyone or impede other's salvation by continually dissing this movie.And by the way, people who have not watched an entire movie should not, IMHO, write a review. That's like turning in your book report after the first chapter.

quillinmom I had to laugh at the politically correct rapture. The writers, who know very little about Biblical prophecy and history, picked and chose verses they thought could fit and ,many times, rewrote them to fit their story. I realize this was fictional, the way they chopped it up they should have left any reference to the Bible out. Sure they had a couple of the characters, but this was absolutely horrible. The filming could have been done better by amateurs. Next time, read and study your source yourself, and don't rely on someone to tell you what it says. It was sloppy, and poorly done. I would be embarrassed to have my name associated with it. History channel, I know you are biased against the Bible, but this made a fool of your channel.
