I am pretty shocked. I thought this would be the world's worst fan made series ever, but I was surprised. It actually is pretty incredible. Super low budget, but acting is pretty good for a fan series and also the action, and also the script and soundtrack were surprisingly talented. Not only that but, the effects were very sophisticated for a fan series, and what not. If you are bored out of your mind, and are a DC fan you might want to check this out. Us fans might learn a thing or to on how to create a proper fan made series from this one.

"Nightwing: The Series" is a five-part mini-series from 2014. It is an American English-language production by Danny Shepherd and Jeremy Le. Shepherd also plays the main character in here, namely the superhero Nightwing, formerly Batman's loyal aide Robin. Nightwing goes rogue when the Joker (apparently) kills Robin's boyfriend Barbara Gordon. But strangely enough, Nightwing's Anger is not directed against the Superclown, but instead against the super-villain Deathstroke. Ant it takes two attempts to beat him. The episodes run between 7-8 minutes (the first two) and 15 minutes (the last one), so the entire thing is about 50 minutes long, but this includes a whole lot of credits too, which means you can easily watch it in one go. The ending is a bit of a cliffhanger, so it may be possible the story continues at some point. Maybe Batman will also reappear as we see him as a supporting character occasionally in his human form here. I enjoyed episodes one and two, but then the film gets worse in quality and also stays like that until the end, which makes it a watch for me that was not very memorable and also not very realistic. I also think creator Shepherd should have cast somebody else for the title character as he never carried the superhero character convincingly.

This mini-series is absolutely amazing. It's great for Batman fans new and old. It's nice to see a fresh take on the Batman universe. The show revolves around Nightwing, the 1st Robin who had a falling out with Batman. Nightwing is an all time favorite who has had very little exposure until now. The plot is the typical Hero's Journey but it works. The acting is 50/50 but lets face it, no one watches this for Oscar worthy performances. People watch this for the action and it really stands out. The fight choreography seems fluent and realistic. Another thing that stands out is the editing. The show has great editing and effects for a web series. Backers from Kickstarter got their money's worth with this one. The show seems like it would fit within the CW hero universe that includes Green Arrow (or just Arrow) and the Flash. Danny Sheperd does a great job playing Dick Grayson. He has that dark side like The Dark Knight but he also has a bit of humor which differentiates the two quite a bit. Speaking of The Dark Knight, the score is very reminiscent of that film. It is also different in its own way. Overall, it's a solid series that is very entertaining and I can't wait for more to come.

I can't say enough positive things about this series, from the action, acting, music, and considering how low budget it is, its amazing to think about how excellent this series is. Tell every DC Universe fan you know to watch this series, it deserve and need more attention, the episodes are from 5-10 minutes long, and its only 5 episodes, with the final coming out next week, with so short time it have really gotten into me. The main villain in the series is Deathstroke, some people says he is nothing compared to Manu Bennett's version of Deathstroke in Arrow, but who is? This is a Deathstroke focus series not Slade Wilson.Overall Nightwing is a must watch for all of you reading this, and i really hope they plan to make more seasons of it!
