In truth, there is barely enough story here to make a film.

The film makes a home in your brain and the only cure is to see it again.

A lot of perfectly good film show their cards early, establish a unique premise and let the audience explore a topic at a leisurely pace, without much in terms of surprise. this film is not one of those films.

It’s fine. It's literally the definition of a fine movie. You’ve seen it before, you know every beat and outcome before the characters even do. Only question is how much escapism you’re looking for.

If I asked you guys, what movie is about a girl going to a remote home of a friend to visit, and a killer comes in, kills all the family, doesn't find her hiding under the bed. Then the killer loads the body of the girl's friend in his vehicle, and she gets in there too and they stop at a gas station, and the killer kills the people at the gas station while the girl hides, and then when the killer takes off, she gets in a car and chases him and they have a confrontation, I'll bet the majority of you would all guess the same movie, and it wouldn't be "Intensity", unless you all ready knew about this TV movie based on the Dean R. Koontz's novel. So, I am thoroughly convinced "Haute Tension" was taken pretty much directly from "Intensity". This 3-hour TV movie is absolutely sensational, with amazing performances by Molly Parker as the girl and John C. McGinley as the killer. Why this has not been released properly on DVD is a total disgrace. This movie never lets up, and like it's title, it is as intense as any movie you are likely to see. Full bore all the way, and Molly's character stays with, and then chases down the killer, when she finds out he is hiding a missing little girl in his cellar at his home. This is where it breaks quite a bit from "Haute Tension" with a different plot line after the initial stuff I mentioned. Made over ten years ago, this movie holds up today very very well, and is a real thrill ride of a movie. I got it from a cable broadcast, and the copy was very good, and if you liked "Haute Tension", which most of us did, then you will absolutely love this television version of "Intensity". No, it does not have the gore of course, but it doesn't need gore, you'll be on the edge of your seat all the way.

I Loved this movie & want to but it ASAP!!!! I saw this movie on TNT and have been looking to buy ever since. It is scary, almost as intense as the Book which I could not put down. Screen version a little different but still fantastic!!!! I called my sisters to let them know this movie was on. We are all big Dean Koontz fans. If you have never read Dean Koontz this is a good book to start with. Molly Parker the actress who played Chyna Shepard draws you in with her vulnerability and strength. You cannot have a good thriller without a great villain. John McGinley is breathtaking as Edgler Vess! Completely captures your attention by creating an intense character in Edgler making him larger than life! The range of emotions you feel for Ariel, along with the extreme level of terror and then exhilaration is exquisite. This is a must see movie I must have this movie. Can you let me know where I can buy this? Thanks JBLAKELY-3

I saw 'Intensity'on TV. Of course it was cut to ribbons*.That is, if the IMDb run time of 186 minutes is correct.(*Why do they insist on doing that?) It was still excellent. Molly Parker, one of the most adventurous actresses working today, was terrific. John C. McGinley usually an actor who does a fine job in a lesser part, was mesmerising. Suspense builds up all the way. I went out and got the book, great read that made me realise what a good job the screenwriters had done. Wanted to buy the full length movie, according to IMDb it's unavailable!! This is a great movie, only made in 1997, so where is it? Somebody put the uncut version on DVD, PLEASE!!

I come from the Uk and this film was shown a few weeks ago on TV and when I started watching it I was immediately hooked and watching it in suspense. This is one of the most scary films I have ever seen, the killer Vess is great in this film and played brilliantly, the heroine Chyna is also greatly played and believable. The storyline itself is really well done and it all makes sense and greatly acted in this TV series. Chyna Shepard is an insecure woman who when her friend gets murdered by a killer (Vess) decides it is her job to rescue on of his captives, a little girl called Ariel. After this film I have bought 2 Dean Koontz books and hope to read more....
