Kattiera Nana I think this is a new genre that they're all sort of working their way through it and haven't got all the kinks worked out yet but it's a genre that works for me.
    AniInterview Sorry, this movie sucks
Dynamixor The performances transcend the film's tropes, grounding it in characters that feel more complete than this subgenre often produces.
Ella-May O'Brien Each character in this movie — down to the smallest one — is an individual rather than a type, prone to spontaneous changes of mood and sometimes amusing outbursts of pettiness or ill humor.
The_Boxing_Cat A bunch of YESMEN who, clearly isn't interested in doing any real investigating. A CIA agent and a war crimes hunter who has one agenda- making money. God help us if these are the type of people we entrust our national safety to! The others are just as bad. Laughable when they say that AH was aiming to take over the world. lol
polohat A sadly typical show for The History Channel -- the first couple minutes re-hashes what the prior episode "proved," & then the remaining 30 minutes or so seems to use at-least semi-scripted 'reality' with Bob Baer's neato computer chock-full of old intel documents starring the field investigators to various areas, where they talk to locals and discover stuff to lead us to the conclusions we're supposed to accept as proof. Then, Bob Baer & cohorts back at Langley, oops, I mean Los Angeles, reiterate (regurgitate) the conclusions of the field teams as the final psychological reinforcement Like everyone else, I sure don't want to believe adolf et-al lived happily ever-after in South America. But as a critical thinker, I certainly accept that is possible. However, the History Channel long-ago discarded any sense of ethics & replaced it with sensationalism. The field investigators certainly visit some fascinating and curious sites, however in some cases, such as the season 3 episode where they 'discover' a sunken German U-Boat & alleged German seaplane nearby, I'm amused that they never show footage of their local experts saying things like "Oh yeah, we've known about that for decades." Another aspect of that -- they aired what sounded like communication from the divers to the surface support guy, yet the dive gear they showed the divers wearing was NOT capable of such communications! The divers were using normal second-stage SCUBA regulators held in their mouths (preventing speech), not the 'full-face' masks required to communicate verbally with the surface. So that was FAKE. Finally, it seems to me that many of the local sources they interviewed were just too relaxed when talking about nazis & nazi sympathizers. Sure, some were probably relieved to finally share/confess what they knew, and obviously footage is edited, but some of their mannerisms on-camera, talking about such sensitive matters, seemed staged. What's next, a show called 'Hunting Hitler's Hunters,' where a new investigative team investigates this show to determine it's credibility?
genecraigla They re-hash all the previously known information from history. There is not much new in what they bring to the table. The field work is the most interesting part of this. I am writing this review mostly out of an intense repulsion to Tim Kennedy, though.Tim Kennedy is like a 4-year old and I have almost quit watching because of him, many times. I cannot stand his stupid exaggerations and overly inflated enthusiasm. It is a mockery and detracts from the authenticity of the series. He has the right background and skills set to compliment the team, but the wrong expressions and reactions. It also seems that many of the locals do not take the team seriously. In addition, there are such insane assumptions made from a scrap of very general information. The deductions are absurd. In Paraguay there is a Germany consulate and they re-name stating back to the person, a "Nazi" consulate. No, it was a GERMAN consulate because the country was not re-named Naziland. It was Germany. Also, to assume that it was a central hub of intense power, just because it was a consulate where there were gatherings of Germans is absurd. Of course there would be gatherings of Germans there. It was the GERMAN consulate. Idiots! And the Bat Signal they found of the schwastika emblazoned lighthouse bulb, I really expected Tim to make a joke about Batman. But then I think that would be trademark infringement. I am sure he did and it was edited out for legal purposes."This wall is thick enough to stop a bullet so it must have been a guard shack to protect some high valued target!" Wow! Then ANY building could qualify as that. Or the disintegrated chair on a rock ledge was not a quiet place to get away from the wife and watch nature, was it? It was some guard post to spot people coming up the valley, though the people would have been invisible due to the canopy of the trees! IDIOTS!!!Stupid exaggerations and wild speculations, one after another, are generated to inflate the drama of an action-less series. I watch this series, though, because of the re-iteration of history and the field work. I just wish they did it without the Shatner-ish dramatizations and that they would say, "Here is what we have already known for decades that is not taught in History classes..." Then when they discover something truly new to add to the corpus of knowledge on the subject we can all get truly excited and cheer them on!
fdigiovanni-75766 No real investigative reporting.... a complete joke.. yet I still keep watching..
