I like Black Panther, but I didn't like this movie.

I like movies that are aware of what they are selling... without [any] greater aspirations than to make people laugh and that's it.
Portia Hilton
Blistering performances.
Sarita Rafferty
There are moments that feel comical, some horrific, and some downright inspiring but the tonal shifts hardly matter as the end results come to a film that's perfect for this time.

Wüstenspringmaus (2002)*** (out of 4) Funny documentary short from Jim Finn tells us the history and other interesting facts about the wustenspringmaus, better known by its English name the gerbil. This short lasts just under three minutes and for the most part it's pretty entertaining thanks to the visual style Finn gives it. What we've basically got is the narrator telling us the history as well as subtitles running at the bottom of the screen. While we learn about the history we can see a gerbil running around at the bottom of the screen and then there's rear-projection footage in the background. This isn't a masterpiece of any sort and its appeal will probably be limited but those who like to break away from the mainstream and see something different but original should get a kick out of it.
