Good start, but then it gets ruined

It's an amazing and heartbreaking story.

A film of deceptively outspoken contemporary relevance, this is cinema at its most alert, alarming and alive.

Strong acting helps the film overcome an uncertain premise and create characters that hold our attention absolutely.

This 46 and a half minute documentary is featured on The Nightmare Series Encyclopedia DVD, which is on the seventh disc of the Nightmare on Elm Street box set. It features interviews with all the main cast and crew. Everything about the first film is covered from the origins of the story to casting to shopping it around to talk of the alternative endings and everything it between. The sequels only get a brief mention of the sequels, thats the only thing lacking in the documentary. But hey you can't have everything, I guess. Plus the less said about "Freddy's Revenge" is always good.My Grade: B
