Marva-nova Amazing worth wacthing. So good. Biased but well made with many good points.
Pedro-37 The drama "Unfaithful Wife 2" stars Patricia Javier, the wonderfully beautiful actress from "Ang Kabit ni Mrs. Montero". But even with her in the lead, the film fails on every level. The movie is directed by Gallaga & Reyes who also did the much better "Mrs. Montero" and tells the story of a beautiful woman (yes, that's Javier, of course) who has just married a rich man (Ian Veneracion) and now starts an affair with her ex-lover Archie (Ryan Eigenmann). What a terribly boring plot. I don't spoil anything when I tell you that it stays boring until the very last second. Nothing happens that you couldn't see coming. There's no directorial flair, no interest in the plot, no nothing.Eroticism? Well, unlike the ones in "Mrs. Montero", the sex scenes in "Unfaithful Wife 2" are terribly generic and unerotic. For those who have to know: Yes, you do see some skin of Miss Javier, but it is seriously underwhelming. A big part of this fault goes to actor Ryan Eigenmann. Why Patricia Javier would ever fall for him is beyond me. He is not attractive and has no seductive qualities. He's just plain and utterly mediocre. I don't want to insult a man's look, but if you're up against Patricia Javier, you better try to look your best. Eigenmann doesn't look good at all. That hurts the plot's plausibility - and even more, the eroticism of the sex scenes. Why not cast the attractive K. C. Montero? Or the tough Robin Pedilla? Or Cesar Montano? Well, you get the point.I don't blame the film's complete lack of quality to this miscasting. But it's one mistake of many. Way too many. By the time this ordeal was over, I thought about reducing my monthly dose of Philippine movies. Perhaps I've seen the highlights with "Muro-ami", "Hubog" and "Mrs. Montero" and there's nothing better out there? Ok, I shouldn't let myself get dragged down. Patricia Javier's worth another chance. Or two. Or three ... oh. The rating. That's a dismal2/10
