Protraph Lack of good storyline.
FuzzyTagz If the ambition is to provide two hours of instantly forgettable, popcorn-munching escapism, it succeeds.
Dirtylogy It's funny, it's tense, it features two great performances from two actors and the director expertly creates a web of odd tension where you actually don't know what is happening for the majority of the run time.
Mabel Munoz Just intense enough to provide a much-needed diversion, just lightweight enough to make you forget about it soon after it’s over. It’s not exactly “good,” per se, but it does what it sets out to do in terms of putting us on edge, which makes it … successful?
kosmasp It's a shame really. The first movie came out of nowhere and made an impact. At least in the south of Germany, where this is supposedly set it. And if you're familiar with the way people talk there and how they behave, it was like the "Big fat Swabian Church" movie you got served. In fact it was so popular it spawned a TV show (yes, same thing happened with Big Fat Greek Wedding too). While I haven't seen the sequel to the Wedding movie nor either of the TV shows, I did see this sequel and it did leave me with a bitter and disappointed feeling behind. It's a shame, because you get many of the characters you came to love from the first movie, the tone seems to be kept, but it doesn't bode as well as the first one. Seems like even with similar ingredients you can't cook up the same excellent dish ... or maybe we got spoiled the first time around ...
