Twilight Phantom Trailers

Misaki visits her boyfriend Koichi in Okinawa, the southern island of Japan. To welcome the arrival of Misaki, Koichi's friend Jinsei holds a welcoming party at his house. At the party, Misaki learns from the wise granny about the legend behind the bag hanging from the fig tree and the local demon: Kijimuna, which deeply fascinate Misaki. Jinsei then introduces Misaki to a young female writer, Kagemi, who tells Misaki the darker side of the Kijimuna legend. As the local shaman and medium to the other world, Kagemi’s knowledge in local lore gives Misaki much more to wonder about. The quiet life in Okinawa takes a sharp turn with the arrival of Jinsei’s ex-wife Sanae, which leads to a tragic accident. Soon, the parties involved begin to see a vengeful spirit and their peaceful lifes turn into a nightmare.

Reviews
Alicia I love this movie so much
FirstWitch A movie that not only functions as a solid scarefest but a razor-sharp satire.
Cissy Évelyne It really made me laugh, but for some moments I was tearing up because I could relate so much.
Janis One of the most extraordinary films you will see this year. Take that as you want.
paul david I always find Japanese horror films fascinating and this one is no exception. I notice its 2007 so a few years ago and no reviews for it on this website, I wonder why. I have just watched it on DVD.Its not really a horror film and its barely a thriller but its a lot more than a boring drama. Misaki is the Japanese lady in the movie who develops a relationship with Koichi, a handsome guy from Okinawa whom she goes to visit.I have yet to reconcile the opening beach scene of Misaki and her girl-friend with the events which unfold in the film and what she says about Koichi. The film is actually about Sanaae, the red haired estranged wife of Jinsel whose behaviour is bizarre throughout the film. They have a Son called Jinta who gets bitten by a snake while running away and a chain of events occur which then create absorbing viewing. The story of the dead cat in the bag in the forest is also a puzzling one in the context of the film and I am also still trying to work why its called 'Twilight Phantom' but the film is entertaining and certainly worth watching.
