In the California desert, a man has accidentally swallowed some drugs, but he discovers that the nearer medical clinic is closed and has to drive twelve miles to the hospital in Ridgecrest. But the voyage soon proves to be impossible because the drugs start to take effect. Exhausted and in the middle of a desert road, the man is finally rescued and taken to a hospital. When he wakes up he finds the girl who helped him at his bedside.
