Yes, absolutely, there is fun to be had, as well as many, many things to go boom, all amid an atmospheric urban jungle.

Having watched this film several years ago, I thought it was one of the best films on TV. We taped it and lent it to someone who taped over it. We have been looking for it to appear on our screens again which hasn't happened. We have been very disappointed over the years as we Love Helen Baxendale and also the other characters in this film. The plot was fantastic and very unpredictable. I would love to buy this film on either DVD or Video. If anyone can give us any information on this film we would be very grateful. I have family who have not seen this film and would love to share it with them. Looking forward to positive response to this appeal.

Credible and moody treatment of incredible premise, as Helen Baxendale is made to pay for minor extracurricular excesses when her up-and-coming lawyer is targeted for nasty mind games, career destruction and even death by crazies from university days. It's surprising that this sober, gripping TV movie hasn't received more attention on IMDb; surprising too that Baxendale hasn't made more cinema films on the strength of this and other roles.Baxendale's part is winning, bringing complexity and sympathy to the disintegration and recovery of a very real and character whose human faults are preyed on mercilessly. Her downward spiral as the walls close in is memorable and affecting.

This is a movie that engaged me from start to fadeout. It introduced a thirty-something divorcee, likeable from the outset, who, having it altogether,(within her cosy, if conservative law firm) becomes unravelled when 3 friends of her university days descend upon her. They were all free spirits then, but as she remarks in later disillusionment, she's "the one who grew up." (she's wrong about that -the trio proves, in time, to be sophisticated beyond her worst nightmare). She's vulnerable to their machinations, because of her status within the community; her promiscuity; her up-tightness; and her murky past.(A brush with the Law). This movie should appeal to those who like action, in that it moves, at a cracking pace, (great editing, here), psychological drama(the characters all are unique), suspense (who's gonna murder whom?), and a Message in their movie (how four once-close-friends, can turn, eventually, each against the other because of their "growth" whether it be, upward, outward, or stunted)... there's even some unexpected sex! Yes, a very well-scripted absorbing yarn, in which one can identify with the characters (I got mad at all four protagonists!), appreciate the absence of cliches, and say,at film's end. "Terrific!"
