Juliet Stevenson stars as prosecutor Helen West from the popular crime novels by Frances Fyfield. Helen and her significant other, Chief Superintendent Geoffrey Bailey (Jim Carter), have recently moved to a sedate London suburb only to face a shocking murder. Bailey thinks he has the case wrapped up, but Helen punches holes in the evidence and his ego, and then proceeds to track down the real killer.

MonsterPerfect Good idea lost in the noise
Huievest Instead, you get a movie that's enjoyable enough, but leaves you feeling like it could have been much, much more.
Aedonerre I gave this film a 9 out of 10, because it was exactly what I expected it to be.
Rio Hayward All of these films share one commonality, that being a kind of emotional center that humanizes a cast of monsters.
Pat A murder mystery which may have come from a TV series but which stands alone satisfactorily. The acting is very good from all the characters. The characters themselves are all believable and behave in a realistic fashion. The plot is a bit gruesome but then I suppose that is in the nature of murder. It had me guessing for quite a while. The only thing that spoilt it for me is when the heroine is subjected to an attack but never mentions it to anyone! That was the only bit that spoilt the realism of the film for me.Some plot twists are a bit contrived but I was able to swallow them and still enjoy the piece.
