SanEat A film with more than the usual spoiler issues. Talking about it in any detail feels akin to handing you a gift-wrapped present and saying, "I hope you like it -- It's a thriller about a diabolical secret experiment."
Brennan Camacho Mostly, the movie is committed to the value of a good time.
Cristal The movie really just wants to entertain people.
Nelson Strang What utter bilgewater. Patently designed to hoodwink those with absolutely no self-esteem. Reprehensible filmmaking. They should be ashamed of themselves. Avoid.
blueluna-04138 I thought the idea of this concept was good, and there is an element of truth. But only an element. The fact of the matter is there are positive and negative experiences that people face. To believe you caused every health issue, every broken heart, etc. Is not only wrong but is actually quite destructive. Is a happier person healthy? Or what about when they are cured.... Are they all of a sudden happy people? Is a sick child that way because they are unhappy? If you really dig into it you can see the lies. That being said I do believe in faith and that prayer leads to positive outcomes. That's not the type of faith in the movie though. In the movie you get what you ask for no matter how horrible bc you are emitting that frequency to the universe. In a faith based religion you are simply trusting that a greater being is keeping watch over you. It does not rely on you really except that obviously you need to at least be trying. For example you can't win the lottery if you never buy a ticket. That's just common sense. There are many, many things that I've asked for it and received it. Some just happened randomly, most I worked hard to receive. There are also negative things that I did not ask for and received. So I I take the positive and negative experiences which shape my overall being..whether that be good or bad. Still we exist of outside of these experiences. Like a dream, we are a part of it but also not a part of it.So that would really be my "secret" for life. Be goal oriented, but live in the moment. Don't let experiences define you, but believe in a higher being.
Ken Saclo Are we really still so infantile in this day and age that we can instantly recognize ridiculousness instantly? Yes, we should always try and think positive. That's about it. I mean for people to try and sell and make others believe that this movie has answers is not only preposterous, but just sad. I am imagining and wishing this movie be deleted forever.... Is it gone? hmmm I guess it doesn't work. I could only stand about 2 minutes of this wanna be Dianetics belief system before i had to shut if off. Don't waste your time people. What they are trying to sell you on has no basis and is no way of basing your life 's journeys.
yudavid Anyone heard of this old saying? "Your thoughts become your words, Your words become your actions, Your actions become your habits, Your habits form your character, Your character determines your destiny."Positive thoughts "usually" yield positive outcomes. Greece composer Yanni once quoted during his concert at the Acropolis: "… everything great that has ever happened to humanity since the beginning, has begun as a single thought in someone's mind and if anyone of us is capable of such a great thought then all of us have the same capacity, capability, because we are all the same". It's essentially the same basic concept as The Secret. The first time I watched The Secret was in 2007. Our daughter was only 2 years old at the time, the year when my wife had stage-4 lymphoma and was going thru chemotherapy and I was on the verge of losing my job (and health insurance) due to outsourcing. Talk about stress and emotional ups and downs!!! We got the DVD from another couple whom at the time was also going thru cancer treatment. Throughout 2007, my wife probably watched that DVD once a week and I watched it about 5-6 times. We didn't expect miracles to happen overnight. But during tough moments, the messages in this DVD actually brought some hope. Little by little, we tried to follow and think and talk positively and dream about how good our future will be. By late 2007, my wife finished all her treatments and gone into remission; and I finally landed a stable government job.By late 2008, my wife has gotten healthier and grew all her hair back; and I even got a city award from my new job exactly one year after employment. It's been 8 years now. My wife is still healthy and I got promoted 3 times on my job since then.I feel blessed. Some say its luck of the draw and I won't say the good things in our lives came easy. We had to work for everything we attained. The Secret taught us how (and why) to have a more positive attitude, helped us gone thru tough times, learn to be more grateful and humble when we achieved successes, and in return, the Universe will give us even more. You have to experience The Secret to believe in it.
