In 1944, Cederqvist comes to a small cloth factory to see how the all-women employees can work more efficiently. At the beginning he is greeted with suspicion and his efforts at courting the young ladies are futile. But as soon as he buys himself a car it becomes much easier, especially since he has the power to relocate people to an easier line of work. Plot by Mattias Thuresson.

Reviews
Manthast Absolutely amazing
Claire Dunne One of the worst ways to make a cult movie is to set out to make a cult movie.
Ezmae Chang This is a small, humorous movie in some ways, but it has a huge heart. What a nice experience.
Billy Ollie Through painfully honest and emotional moments, the movie becomes irresistibly relatable
Tord S Eriksson This little gem by Lasse Hallström has stood the ravages of time perfectly, just as crisp and enjoying now, as in 1981, when it was released. The story is centered around a small, rural, textile factory during WWII, when most men are at the front. The lead character is Cederqvist, the new time study man, that thinks he's a real stud. Employed by a factory that employs almost exclusively women, almost all blond and young, he goes into a spin!Well written, well acted and with a good director, and mostly filmed in a a real textile factory, a few miles from here, that gives a lot of authenticity to the story, it would be impossible to do it again today!
