Reviews
Rijndri Load of rubbish!!
Voxitype Good films always raise compelling questions, whether the format is fiction or documentary fact.
Kien Navarro Exactly the movie you think it is, but not the movie you want it to be.
Derrick Gibbons An old-fashioned movie made with new-fashioned finesse.
Horst in Translation (filmreviews@web.de) "The Portal" is a 2-year-old 11-minute live action short film written and directed by Jonathan Williams that was successful enough to be turned into a mini-series little later. I myself cannot really see the hype though. The story is nothing new though. A wizard arrives in today's world through a portal and, of course, quickly falls in love with a common business woman. The rest is a mix of comedy, fantasy and romance, but none of these 3 areas seemed very convincing at all. I also did not like the ending. Such a gigantic change in terms of story and this was simply not elaborated on well enough in my opinion. Pretty surprised this has such a high rating. I don't recommend the watch.
