The movie's not perfect, but it sticks the landing of its message. It was engaging - thrilling at times - and I personally thought it was a great time.

Yes, this is a very bad movie. An amateur production of 23-year-old Torsten Emrich (his second, and last). Except for the aging star power of Eddie Constantine, mostly layman actors executed an inconsistent script with mostly bad jokes. As reported, production costs of 500,000 DM were invested, and even a vinyl single of the theme song "Geheimagenten" produced (which didn't fare well either on the market). But the maker claimed it was supposed to be "the worst movie ever made". I cannot verify that claim, but he succeeded at least partially. Never successful at the box office, it was brought to DVD by Marketing Film in 2002, advertised as "101% cult trash". I bought it yesterday at the DVD rental for 90 cents, and it's worth at least that :) Indeed, on second watch it's more fun. The general badness doesn't take one by shock any more, but the few nice scenes come out stronger - like the black ninjas I and II. The Viet Nam scene. Most of Sabine Stoffel's scenes, especially the dream/ballet scene. The VW truck. Dr. Goltz' "computer room" with Rotamint wheels in place of a tape drive...Come to think, I will watch this movie again - bad as it is, it has some charming badness. Some liquor helps the enjoyment :^)

This is a film that makes the worst works of Ed Wood look like art. It's not even funny just very unprofessional and amateurish. The acting is appalling, a story non existent and the main actor is so bad he has to be dubbed. There is no real concept behind the film, essentially it's like a movie a 16 year old would shoot. The whole project is just one gigantic ego-trip for the writer/ director/ producr/ actor. It is just very annoying that taxpayer's' money actually went into the making of this film. Whatever possessed Eddie Constantine to act in this turkey I don't know. (Probably money) It goes to show that Germans and humour don't go together. However, this film has one redeeming feature: the cute Modesty Blaise lookalike Sabine Stoffel who never made another film.
