Reviews
Gurlyndrobb While it doesn't offer any answers, it both thrills and makes you think.
Micah Lloyd Excellent characters with emotional depth. My wife, daughter and granddaughter all enjoyed it...and me, too! Very good movie! You won't be disappointed.
Sameer Callahan It really made me laugh, but for some moments I was tearing up because I could relate so much.
Sarita Rafferty There are moments that feel comical, some horrific, and some downright inspiring but the tonal shifts hardly matter as the end results come to a film that's perfect for this time.
johnnygrant007 I was given this film by a friend who thought I might like it and man was he right! Not only was THE HAUNTING of PEARSON PLACE well acted, well written and well Directed it was well shot and well edited. It burned slowly and diliberately. I wasn't expecting much from an Indie film but what I got was so awesome and freaky (in a normal cool way, not a weird one) that I ended up watching the movie a second time that night. And on the second viewing I caught all the clues that were so clearly there the first time. We've become so used to being SPOON FED movies now a days that its great to actually watch a film that makes you think and at the same time forget you're watching a movie. The actors were great, Regen Wilson is going to be huge someday, he reminds me of Jack Nicolson and Tracy Teague, Ken Arnold and Suzi Lorraine were dead perfect. Joe Estevez was sooooo creepy as the landlord that I laughed nervously every time he came on screen. The Guy was freeeeeaaakkkky. This movie Freakeeeed me out and Michael Merino knows exactly when to turn the heat up or let you slowly boil like a frog in hot water, before you know it...it's over. 10 stars simply because it was a low budget Indie film that I enjoyed more than the latest Hollywood poop out there. Watch this film!!!
flyingmonkey1999 In an era where it seems like the horror genre has been filled with slasher flicks that compete with one another to elicit an ever-escalating shock value, it feels nice to use one's brain to follow a worthwhile horror story. Michael Merino's touches bring out a little Hitchcock, and I found the movie highly entertaining. Regen Wilson does an especially nice job in his supporting role. In my opinion definitely worth the price of a movie ticket to own this one!" SHAMROCK 76. Keep an eye out for THE HAUNTING of PEARSON PLACE at film festivals worldwide or you can purchase it on line at Amazon or at the production companies website.
danlewis0530 The Haunting of Pearson Place was one of those films that on it's surface seems as if its going to just be an old school haunted house film. I'm here to tell you it was much more than that! I enjoyed this movie so much I watched it twice (there were two private screenings) last night. Michael Merino is a slight of hand Director who doesn't smash you over the head with his film, he gets into it. Lead actor Ken Arnold is so focused its almost scary. Regen Wilson is a boiling pot about to explode, with Julie Price as sexy and tempting as can be. Leading lady Tracey Teauge is the perfect 21st century woman...thinking she can have it all, and somehow deserves it. She gets whats coming to her!The cinematography and score were so beautiful my ears and eyes melted. Hollywood films only wish they had the style and class of this film. Smooth, creepy and intelligent.
markdel316 This was a very well thought out and original film, first one must understand that this is a Psychological Thriller like THE SHINING. The Divine Comedy is used as this films basis as to one is a prisoner in purgatory or the different levels of hell for their earthly vices consisting of the seven deadly sins. Therefore in Lehman's terms if you indulged in lustful deeds during your life, you will be surrounded by unwanted lust for all eternity. This is a movie that gets better the more times you watch it, every time you pick up something new, a clue of shorts to tell the story of Pearson Place. Whether its a journal, a photo, or a set of keys, foreshadowing is inserted to the mind of the viewer. Furthermore when a new clue is discovered in a follow up viewing you're saying to yourself, "isn't that smart, alright I get it." What I liked mostly about this film is the "ghosts" are in human form, unlike other thrillers where the ghosts are mutilated, don't speak, glow a specific color and float. The ghosts in this film are physically attractive and walk around like they're amongst the living. Very good movie to turn out the lights, make a big bowl of popcorn and get out the trusted security blanket, you may need to cover up for certain parts.
