Reviews
Inadvands Boring, over-political, tech fuzed mess
RipDelight This is a tender, generous movie that likes its characters and presents them as real people, full of flaws and strengths.
TrueHello Fun premise, good actors, bad writing. This film seemed to have potential at the beginning but it quickly devolves into a trite action film. Ultimately it's very boring.
Neive Bellamy Excellent and certainly provocative... If nothing else, the film is a real conversation starter.
Michael Ledo Jill (Brianne Davis), who is blind, inherits a manor from an aunt she never met. She goes out to the manor and stays there with two friends while ghosts and "imprints" haunt the house. The film was rather boring and at no time scary. C. Thomas Howell has a minor role near the end. Made for TV quality. Guide: No swearing, sex, or nudity.
randburgoyne The Haunting of Marsten Manor is a great Halloween movie for all ages. Great story-line, scary special effects, believable characters. There's a mystery to that old house and the ghost of Kate Marsten tries to reveal the secret. In the process she helps a young girl, Jill, learn about her connections to her ancestors and how to deal with her own handicap. I would have rated it 10 but sometimes the dialog lags and slows the story - but that's only because we are more keen on fast moving TV shows. This has become a classic in our DVD library!RB
Cronos7 This movie appears as if it was made as a junior film project. I just watched this movie in a mixed age group, and everyone disliked it immensely - hate is a strong word. This movie had a bit of Jesuspower in it, we questioned if it was made by a church. The acting is terrible. It's as if the casting department, if it existed, asked four random people to star in the movie. There's one scene that involves a black woman and a "black" child. We rewound the DVD and took a second look, and all concluded that the child is Indian. Passing off an Indian child as black is strange in context. Also, we think the male lead is wearing women's jeans.
amjojo "The Haunting Of Marsten Manor" is an enjoyable movie. I saw this film at a film festival and again when it came to theaters. It's a film people of all ages will enjoy. It's a supernatural thriller with redeeming values. It has a lot of twists and turns I didn't expect, that I enjoyed a lot. I got chills many times during the movie! The 3 main actors did a great job as well as the ghost (Julie Sapp) and the soldier (C. Thomas Howell). C.Thomas Howell adds a lot to the film. I've loved him since "The Outsiders"!I think the writers are talented and are a great duo. This is actually the first film for the filmmakers. I'm really looking forward to seeing more of their films. You leave the movie feeling happy that you saw it. Find it and see it!
