Ketrivie It isn't all that great, actually. Really cheesy and very predicable of how certain scenes are gonna turn play out. However, I guess that's the charm of it all, because I would consider this one of my guilty pleasures.

Micah Lloyd Excellent characters with emotional depth. My wife, daughter and granddaughter all enjoyed it...and me, too! Very good movie! You won't be disappointed.

Phillida Let me be very fair here, this is not the best movie in my opinion. But, this movie is fun, it has purpose and is very enjoyable to watch.

mike-higgins-1 Man, talk about a lot of emotional stuff going on! Wow! What with all of the child predators and related things in the news today, this movie, even though it was made 4 years ago, really hits home and hits in the gut. Sean Patrick Flannery does a fine job in portraying a cop who is torn between doing his job and letting a vigilante "finish the job" plus personal problems on top of that. A little bloody for me at times but a well done indie movie. It was good to see Mimi Rogers in such a powerful role. And glad to see Joey Lauren Adams on film again. She makes it believable that her character has to overcome past problems and current anti-female cop male officers in order to prove herself capable of doing her job.

dex_sf A PROMISE KEPT has a very interesting and unusual plot, the adaption is thrilling without the limitations it probably would have received if it was a big studio production, it has a good camera, an excellent soundtrack and very professional lead actors.Sean Patrick Flanery and Mimi Rogers are great, Emma Nicholas and Brian McNamara excellent and Tom Wright could have a bit more screen time. Jeff Speakman ads a lot of color to the movie.The plot surely causes discussions, and that's more than you can say about 95% of the movies. It's a good idea to watch it with friends, an interesting and probably controversial discussion afterwards is guaranteed.

chinaguy123 Not a true spoiler but does describe a scene late in the film.I registered for this service simply to express my amazement that films like this can find financing. The plot is clichéd and ridiculous (a cop with a murdered wife and new partner, battling a vigilante?), there are numerous repetitive scenes, the characters are unsubtly written and generally highly unbelievable, and to top it off there is a clumsily-delivered religious message. Poor Mimi Rogers.Are we expected to believe the scene in the parking garage with the vigilante scuffling down the side? The escape is so unlikely but that is conveniently ignored because the plot requires the vigilante to get away.Last, it is difficult to imagine anyone unironically enjoying the song "Goodnight Erin" that plays through the credits. Utterly uncomfortable to watch/listen to. For friends of the film-maker only.

mc_schultz i saw it at the video store and thought the idea was cool, but . . . . despite the cool idea, the movie was terrible.there are so many holes in the story, but since i can't remember the characters names, i will not take the time and effort to say much. just a couple of points:1) why does the vigilante wear goggles and a mask in the comfort of the high-tech vigilante spy room? 2) why does the molester cop fight with his molester brother if they are in cahoots. 3) why is the molester cop a molester? this is never explained. 4) are parents and babysitters really that oblivious to molesters walking around in the middle of the play in plain sight and right in front of them? 5) how does the vigilante get all of these cameras all over the place?and many more, but since the movie was so bad, i don't feel like spending more time and effort in complaining. just enough to vent for the anger of wasting $1.00 at the video store.one more thing, the sound track suxs too. i almost hit the mute button.mcs
