Good concept, poorly executed.

Each character in this movie — down to the smallest one — is an individual rather than a type, prone to spontaneous changes of mood and sometimes amusing outbursts of pettiness or ill humor.

Close shines in drama with strong language, adult themes.

low budget project, poor acting, actors tried so hard, but cant create some tears to make them look really angry or sad. Full of mistakes: wound disappear so fast, people believe in just two articles from the internet, a contractor can meet high ranking officials(same mistake in the Snowden movie). About the concept of the movie, I really don't know if it's true. The Pope invited China to organ trafficking summit this year, so I think the movie is based on fake stories. One thing the movie did right is to tell people do not practice Falun Gong, or you will end up in jail, and "there's nothing you can do".

I am not often moved to tears. But I was this time, and several times The story line is good and captivating The scenario is not linear as I expected, it surprised me several times. The story is even more captivating when you know it is based on true events. I checked a bit more of what is happening in China, it is just unbelievable ! It is as the movie shows and maybe worse : all the cheating, spying and the tortures to get those people to sign against their believes... In a recent article it was said that the number of illegal transplants amounts between 1 and 1.5 millions ! It is alike what happened during WW2 with the Jews. To summarize, this movie is a must-see, as much for the story in itself and for the message it delivers

This follows the story of a Canadian techie in China to install improvements to the Great Firewall of China, and a woman that is imprisoned based only on the fact that she is a Falun Gong practitioner. It exposes one of the uglier sides of China under the Communist Party - "transplant tourism" for money. Political prisoners were and still are routinely killed for organ harvesting. The acting and not-quite-mega-budget production values are not the best, but the message is overpowering despite those flaws. Easy to see why China has blocked this movie, and has gone so far as to pressure many movie theaters to not show it.

I recommend this film, highly. It puts you in the middle of the action in China -- spying, lying, profiteering, violence -- that China doesn't want anyone to know about. Gave me goosebumps to think that the technology and heartless state policy in the film is real. That realism raised the stakes for the action and the plot to incredible heights. Props to a refreshingly intelligent thriller. Probably not a good one for young kids, FYI, but it would be good for a younger generation, say, teenagers, to see it because there'a a good message and it could open their eyes to some crazy stuff going on in the world right now that they'd be better for knowing. Plus, they'd be riveted, just like anyone, by the story.
