ChicRawIdol A brilliant film that helped define a genre
Mischa Redfern I didn’t really have many expectations going into the movie (good or bad), but I actually really enjoyed it. I really liked the characters and the banter between them.
Donald Seymour This is one of the best movies I’ve seen in a very long time. You have to go and see this on the big screen.
Leofwine_draca American Mission is your typical crazed slice of all-action spectacle from the one and only Godfrey Ho. The plot makes little sense but this appears to be one of his 'proper' productions rather than a cut-and-paste hack job. The film was produced in Hong Kong but shot in the Philippines by the look of it. A number of Western actors play the members of a hit squad sent to take down a criminal gang, and what follows involves endless shoot-outs, slow motion, and repetitive action. There's not quite as much unintentionally funny material here as in something like NINJA TERMINATOR or SCORPION THUNDERBOLT and at times you wish for the presence of a Richard Harrison or Bruce Baron to make you laugh. Still, you could do worse. It's hardly high art, but then you expect nothing more from Godfrey Ho.
