Reviews
Protraph Lack of good storyline.
Orla Zuniga It is interesting even when nothing much happens, which is for most of its 3-hour running time. Read full review
Billie Morin This movie feels like it was made purely to piss off people who want good shows
Skyler Great movie. Not sure what people expected but I found it highly entertaining.
sylent1-9-193639 God knows I wanted to LIKE this movie...but the fact is none of the characters are even likable. The male lead is pathetic and needy, the female lead is manipulative and abusive. He writes a script about what happens to him day to day obviously and his life is uninteresting. No one should have to put up with what his girlfriend subjected him to daily and no one should be so needy that they would endure it. Most of the picture I just kept my eyes closed because I couldn't stand to watch these people's lives. I like indie movies...they are usually quirky and left field humorous. I didn't find any humor in this movie and I doubt I would have spent five minutes with any of the characters. Sorry. I really hate when someone trashes a movie, but if this the BEST idea someone could come up with for cinema then I can understand the volume of POV movies and found footage.I was in a good mood when I watched this movie but when it was over I felt like I had eaten something bad.
MoviesNmoore I saw this movie about a week ago and thought it was pretty good. It follows the average story/plot of the Jonha Hill/Seth Rogan fat guy comedy getting the hot girl. So it was like watching any of those movies but done for no money. So take from that what you will. I think Josh Gad is as funny as they come. I saw him in Book of Mormon this year and never laughed more. For being a character actor this is something 100% different than you are use to seeing of him. His girlfriend, played by Kristen Ruhlin, wasn't unique in any way but she did stand out performance wise as possibly the only serious actor in the bunch. Josh Gad and her together were very good and believable. The rest of the movie is a little goofy filled with super over the top acting characters, which is fun to watch and laugh at. The story sort of jumped around at times and I wish it had focused more on one single plot line but it works. There were a few really stunning shots of the film. It opens in New York and then jumps to these random shots of her in New York later. Those were so cinematic and beautiful and simple to me, I wish I could see more of that movie. The highlight being Charlie Sheen and his hat. He is so funny and made the movie for me. Being the type of movie it is, I expected it to be. The biggest problem I had with the movie was I thought it would be more over the top funny character slap stick funny, but Josh Gad and Kristen Ruhlin made it more into some film festival type film rather than a comedy. It was just not what I expected. Highlights: Hilary Duff looking hot. Charlie Sheen poking fun at himself. Newman and The granny from Wedding Crashers. Check it out for the Sheen factor
leighbgreen Funniest Moments: Dick jokes, Funny group of guy friends like the random black guy, Random Nudity, "so fresh"- ew, Charlie Sheen Winning, Newman, Hip Hop Granny, Awkward fight scene at the end. Best Overall Moments: Opening scene of the girlfriend on a bridge (thought this is how the whole movie would be) and it probably would have been a better movie if it kept this tone. Girlfriend leaving her lying boyfriend in the middle of the movie. Hilary Duff coming out of the red porche. Charlie Sheen and his hat. Josh Gad trying to keep it real throughout the whole movie. Most Memorable Characters: Kim Powers(Hilary Duff) ,Charlie Sheen, Tyson(random black guy friend), Ex-Husband (Johnny Messner), Fat/Gay friend Best Acting: Sammy(Kristen Ruhlin), Max(Aaron Yoo), Sam(Josh Gad), Gwen (Melonie Diaz)Best Plot (there's a lot): Wish we would have seen more of Sam and Sammy before they moved to LA. The Carly(Brit Morgan) role would have been good to see more of, i love True Blood. Sammy leaving him for NY and he should have gone after her, wish he would have been more of a hero going after and fighting for her. Wish we could have seen more of his new girlfriend (Melonie Diaz)/Gwen role. She's an amazing actress and wish that would have been a bigger story line. Also, the parents and family should have been there more or not at all. But I do love the Granny(Wedding Crashers and Wedding Singer lady). My opinion. Sure I'd tell peeps to see it.
Bill Thronson I'd definitely recommend. It's a lot of fun! I DO NOT understand IMDb user ratings. This deserves to be much higher! It says that the weighed average is a 7.8 but the score is a lot lower. Very harsh for such a movie that deserves to be seen for a unique yet fun cinematic experience. I was fortunate enough to of had the opportunity to attend the premiere of SHE WANTS ME. The theater was pretty much full and the entire audience laughed out loud at least 15 or so times. I wasn't counted, but I know it was well over 10 times. Most of the humor comes from Josh Gad's character especially when he is dealing with his girlfriend's ex-husband (played by Johnny Messner). Messner has a lot of credits, but was a relative new face to me. He did a good job, but his character did have the best lines, so I guess most of the credit should be given to the scribe. Charlie Sheen has about 3.5 scenes in the movie, totaling about 6 to 7 of the 85 minute running time. Hilary Duff was in 6 scenes, totaling about 12 to 15 minutes or so I'd say. And Newman from Seinfeld (Wayne Knight) was in 2 scenes, totaling about 6 minutes I'd say. Debra Jo Rupp (Mom from That 70's show) was in pretty much every scene with Wayne Knight. They were funny and it was even funnier seeing the rapping granny from Wedding Singer and Wedding Crashers was in this movie too!
